Pros: Great Performance, Great looks, Great interior. Cons: Cupholder. Devices can be cluttered in spots. The Bottom Line: The Mitsubishi Galant is a great value for those who want a great midsize sedan but don't want to pay a Camry premium.
After several unsatisfying driving experiences, including one with a 1992 Ford Taurus and a 1995 Toyota Tercel, I finally decided I needed number one a bigger car, because the Tercel is a tad tiny for me, and number two a more reliable car, because the ...

Pros: nice design Cons: no pick-up, transmissions problems
I purchased a 1995 Galant about a year ago, and I wish I had stuck to my original idea to purchase a Toyota Camry. This car is like a toy, a very delicate toy! It has no pickup, takes forever to accelerate. I am going to have to bring it in to have the...

Pros: Good value second hand car, good ride and cornering Cons: Gas mileage, small defects The Bottom Line: For the money, this car is hard to beat. Given the choice, I would buy one again.
1995 Galant Let me preface this review by saying that I'm originally from Europe. Where I'm from 1.6 liter engines are considered adequate, 2.0 liter engines excessive, and 2.4 liter engines extravagant. Also, the average car is about one size smaller ...

Pros: Inexpensive and fast. Cons: Lacks style and comfort. The Bottom Line: Especially if you're looking for reliable transportation at a great price, then the Galant is for you.
I bought my 1995 Mitsubishi Galant after a bad experience with a Cavalier of the same year. My original intention was to buy a car for college transportation.
The first thing that I noticed during the test drive was that the power windows...

Pros: quiet, roomy, good value for money Cons: poor resale value, looks a bit ugly - not a fashion statement, high depreciation The Bottom Line: Other than poor resale value, no major problems.
I bought a 95 Galant S Auto from CarMax for $11 K including all taxes/fees with 43 K miles.
Its 3 years later with 55 K miles and I've had no major problems.
That's 12 K miles in 3 years or 4,000 miles/year.
A fuse blew that...

Pros: Quiet ride, smooth 4-cylinder Cons: so-so gas mileage, hard-to-find aftermarket parts
When shopping around for a newer used vehicle, I was in store to buy either a Mazda 626 or a Mitsubishi Galant. After test driving both, I found that the Galant was much more of a "driver's" car. It was more quiet at highway speeds than the...

I purchased a 95 Galant starting in December of 1994 and within 3 months there was trouble with the transmission. The dealer took the car for a week, gave me a rental and since getting the car back, it's been an excellent car for 5 1/2 years. I haven't...

Pros: Lasting car. I have 161,000 on it and it still runs good Cons: transmission problems, ball joints, hub bearings, rear bushings The Bottom Line: Good second car or 1st car for teenage kid.
have 161,000 miles on my 95 and it still runs good. I get an average of 26 miles to the gallon which is good considering I drive in excess of 300 miles a week to and from work. Only problems I have had are the transmission slams into first gear when...
