Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Modern interior design, Excellent fuel economy, Price.
Cons: Acceleration, Lazy automatic transmission, 'Tennis Shoe' like exterior.
The Bottom Line: With good fuel economy, a sporty interior, and decent current prices, I do recommend the 200SX.

While many (including me at one time) consider(d) the 200SX to be a flop, (in base and SE trims) there really are some noteworthy attributes that even the base models provide. A drive down to Clear Lake CA, and Robinson Rancheria; a casino in ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good performance, inexpensive, lots of room for a 2-door
Cons: Cup holder annoys me, trunk pass-through a little small, A/C compressor repair was expensive
The Bottom Line: The 200SX SE-R offers good performance for the money. Also roomier than your typical sporty car. Web site: http://se-r.net/about/200sx/index.html

I bought a '95 200SX SE-R in 1998 and have been extremely happy with it. Unfortunately, the 200SX line was discontinued after '98 so you cannot buy these new. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive used car that has above-average performance and...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: lots of great extras included in 1 price.
Cons: None I can think of

I purchased my 200SX-SER when it came on the market in '95. As a recent college grad w/ little $$ but craving (finally) a new car of my own, I originally set my sights on an Acura Integra. When I compared options INCLUDED in the very low price (like...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: decent looks, very refined for small car, interior on par with Maxima
Cons: started to rust after about 7 years
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a reliable used car for a few thousand dollars this is a Civic beater - excellent car even by todays standards

I know this is an older car that doesn't get ANY attention, but it is the best car I have ever owned by a long shot. I've had it since 1998, and plan on keeping it until the engine fails. I live in Canada where we put plenty of salt on the roads. The car ...

Pros: Cheap on gas, OK looks.
Cons: Prone to rusting, flaky electrical components, cheap interior.
The Bottom Line: I wish I never bought this car.

I have always believed in Nissan products but this 200SX may change my mind. I bought this car a little over a year ago with the thought that this would be a great little car for me to drive everywhere and for a long time. This is my third Nissan car and...

Pros: good gas mileage, big trunk, big back seat
Cons: cheap cup holder

This is truly my first car that I have bought, and I am very happy with my descision. It has a snappy little 1.6 liter engine, yet gets really good gas mileage. I am just over 6ft tall and can fit in the back seeat if needed. that is a big plus. The...

Pros: looks great, babe magnet
Cons: a little too slow for my taste

This is my first car. I have only had it about a month, but it seems to be pretty great, and well worth the price. Everyone is amazed when they see this car, especially when i tell them it was only 5 grand. Style-wise, this car is great. it looks like it...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: reliable, sporty, good looking
Cons: SE model a little under powered - manual transmission necessary for decent performance
The Bottom Line: would recommend as a great commuter car. If you see one used, pick it up, you wont go wrong.

I had an SE, would highly recommend the turbo-charged SE-R model as it would get better performance. as it was, the SE had a decent four-banger when mated with the manual transmission, gave me a decent amount of oomph. and the mechanics of the car were...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great car for the $$$$
Cons: Bad trans and electrical problems

This car is great for the money. Being one of Nissians low line of car it has spunk. The small engine and automatic transmission couple for great accelaration over 2500RPM. Although our 200SX did drop a transmission, this was due to a faulty...

Pros: strong motor when running, decent handling when equipped with good tires.
Cons: unreliable, expensive hard to find parts, quirky clutch and tranny.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy one of these ever! Unreliable with very high priced parts. Screwy clutch/shifter feel. Cheap interior and rusty bodies.

I bought this car a little over a year ago, because I wanted sometthing sporty and economical. Mine is an SE-R model with the 2.0L SR20DE engine and a five speed transmission. When running correctly, The car is decently fast and fun to drive. However, ...

I bought a used purple 200SX-SER in '96 and have been pretty much tickled pink by it. I test drove a new SE but found the engine lacking, the saleman pointed out that he had a used SER for about the same price as the new SE, after one test drive I was...

Solid, Reliable Car

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: No major repairs needed, very reliable, great fuel economy, sporty, absolutely no depreciated value, SAFE!
Cons:

Not enough power, could've used a CD player =]

I bought my Nissan 200SX SE Coupe in November of 2006. I had it until August 23rd, 2008. Between those times, I only had 2 problems with it, a bad axle on my driver wheel and my passenger window broke, I had to replace the motor that moves the window up and down. No major repairs, it started up every single time I turned the key.
I crashed it recently and although the car is small, it is VERY sturdy. I was t-boned by a huge cadillac and spun around twice before hitting another car, and although the car was totalled, it did not break up around me, it absorbed the impact pretty well for a smaller car. I walked away with minimal injuries. I'm very impressed by my car, no problems and although I couldn't find any crash test ratings, I feel like it is safer than newer cars because of its sturdiness. Also, I paid $3800 for it, and my insurance gave me a check for $3900 when I crashed it! ;)
