Can you say LUXURY!!

by chloedancer24

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: great look, smooth ride, very comfortable
Cons: gas mileage somewhat low
The Bottom Line: If you want to look good, have a smooth yet powerful ride, this is the car for you. It is also affordable. All my friends are jealous.

I fell in love with this car when my father purchased it a year ago and let my mom and I take it on a 3000 mile trip. Lucky me, I got to drive. Even luckier for me, when my car was totalled in an accident, my father sold it to me so he could buy a ... read more

Pros: powerful, sporty and comfy. best car to own if you are rich.
Cons: gas is to much, repairs are costly and they have to many plastic parts
The Bottom Line: awesome car if you are rich.

Pros: Luxurious, feels great to drive.
Cons: Horrible mileage, expensive to fix.
The Bottom Line: Skip it, for the gas and repair costs you can manage to get a much newer used car. Still its a tough car to give up.

I picked this up from my dad, as a handme-down. It needed some work, as the engine was overheating. It took a couple trips to the dealer to get it back into survivable shape. The ride is gentle, the noise is quite, the acceleration is smooth, when ... read more

200,000 plus miles and still going strong

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Muscular lines resemble a Jaguar, phenomenal performance.
Cons: Began falling apart at 100,000 miles.
The Bottom Line: Would buy it again. Best car I have ever owned. Olds got it right.

I bought my burgundy Aurora from a dealer as a lease return with about 35,000 miles on the odometer. Since then, I have logged more than 165,000 miles of relatively trouble-free and reliable transportation. At almost exactly 100,000 miles (just ... read more

Big Power, Big Repair Costs

by fireball69
Mar 15 '03

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good power, good luxury
Cons: repairs required almost monthly
The Bottom Line: If you want a car with power and luxury, and are willing to pay for frequent repairs, this is for you.

The introduction of the Aurora was long-awaited at General Motors, and at Oldsmobile. The car was very stylish in '95, and still is today. The Northstar V8 is phenominal, though the gas mileage isn't award-winning. It delivers a healthy 250 ... read more

A flashy lemon!!

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Responsive engine,comfort,unique styling,ride.
Cons: Disappointing quality, outrageous costs for service and parts.
The Bottom Line: Unless you are financially able to pay frequent astronomical repair bills, avoid this vehicle at all costs!!

I purchased this 1995 Olds Aurora used with only 59k miles as a second vehicle to take on long trips. My assumption is that with 59k miles, I would be assured of a reliable vehicle for a reasonable amount of time. I purchased this vehicle because it ... read more

I may never buy GM again

by rustyrocket

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Smooth power when it works, nice shape, decent room inside
Cons: Expensive repair parts, numerous part failures under normal use, and other issues listed below
The Bottom Line: Recommendation? Run away, and run fast. If this is representative of Oldsmobile Quality, the end of the marque comes as no surprise.

We purchased this car with 61K on it from the original owner (a business owner in his seventies, no hot-rodder type). We did not mind that some trim was a bit loose since that is easy enough to fix. The problems began after a couple of ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Speed, many options, good traction, nice looking, etc...
Cons: Difficult to repair
The Bottom Line: An excellent car for anyone who wants a larger, fast car that had good bragging capabilities when you are with your friends!

This car is amazing. Simple as that. At first glance, you can tell that this is a well made car. It is extremely sleek and handles like a charm. Fully-loaded, this vehicle is very nice for long drives. GM has out-done themselves this time. This ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Power, beauty, reliability.
Cons: Must use high octane fuel/only 22 mpg avg.

When I first saw information of the new Aurora back in 1994, I fell in love with its beauty. Oldsmobile really did a great job presenting this car to the public. I had to have one! When the company I worked for gave us a choice of autos to lease, I ... read more

Pros: DOHC V8
Cons: none

The oldmobile Aurora is one of the best luxury sports cars around. My parents have one and it sures does run. It has a 4.0L DOHC V8 which is the same motor as the northstar V8 in cadillac but with a smaller bore and crankshaft. No matter which way you ... read more

Pros: Looks good
Cons: Car is typically GM,- BAD

I purchased this automobile because I thought GM had finally solved some of the problems with the transmission and air conditioning that I had experienced in the 1970'and 1980's. The car looks good and has good instrumentation. The ... read more

Great Used Car -- But Get The Warranty

by jaywal
Feb 02 '00

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: A "comfort car" with power and image
Cons: Too much nickel-and-dime shop time

I made about the biggest jump imaginable when I traded in my dependable but tired ’90 Escort for a ’95 Aurora. I fell in love with it from the first test drive – especially when I realized it was several thousand dollars less than a new Intrigue (and a ... read more

A great used value

by amkgjones
Jan 29 '00

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Driving enjoyment, engine
Cons: Build Quality

I traded a '95 Lexus GS300 for a '95 Aurora almost a year ago with no regrets. The GS was a superb auto, but pretentious. The Olds falls short in overall quality but excells in seat of the pants driving enjoyment. The V-8 is great and I even get 25MPG ... read more
