Pros: speed, strength, seats, stereo.
Cons: everything else.
The Bottom Line: no, negatory, nein, NO.

I'm not sure why anyone would ever recommend this car in good faith. I inherited a 95 Grand AM in 2000. It had 150,000 miles on it. And let me tell you, the car was on life support. It should have been put out to pasture at that point. Do NOT purchase a ... read more

Pros: Inexpensive, performance, reliability
Cons: Rotors, room and space, dash rattling
The Bottom Line: Worth the purchase if the price is right.

I purchased this car used in 2003 for $2,700 with 127,000 miles on it. My 1985 Oldsmobile was dying on me and I really didn’t have too much time to pick and choose. I am not aware of all the options that were originally available with this ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: gas mileage and handling
Cons: squeaky dash board
The Bottom Line: A very well rounded car, with few problems and worth the price!

I purchased my first Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe (and first car) in September of 2003. I wanted a car that had tight steering, spacious, and great braking. This car has all of that and a lot more. This car, I have to say, is a really well rounded car. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good handling, plenty of driver and front passenger leg room (i am 5'6") good power
Cons: weighs in at 3819 lbs takes from the power of the Quad 4. possibly expensive.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this type of car to a friend, just not mine. I attribute most of my problems to terrible service personal.

I have read a lot of reviews. Some of the ones i read are good, others are not. I am basing that more on complaints made by the drivers, not the car it self. My car so far is a lemon. I bought it in January 2003 with 153,000+ miles on it from a towing ... read more

95 Grand Am SE V6 is a Good Car

Dec 31, 2003 - Updated Nov 17, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: No engine problems; 29mpg; good power/acceleration; fun to drive
Cons: Rotors warp easily; squeaks & rattles
The Bottom Line: The V6 engine is trouble free. Brakes can't take much abuse. If you maintain it well and don't drive like a maniac it will be good to you.

I have owned this car 9 years and it now has 142,000 miles on it, yet it still looks and runs great. I bought it with 20,000 miles from a dealer in 1996. It is a 4-door 3.1L V6. At purchase, I was informed by the dealer mechanic that the V6 is the way ... read more

Pros: Racy SE styling, well- laid out interior, body, ride, handling.
Cons: Weak Quad 4 engine, rattles and squeaks, reliability, driving position.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this car for its racy styling and good driving dynamics, i recommend the 3.1 V6 instead of the Quad 4.

I purchased a metallic- blue Pontiac Grand Am SE 4- door sedan with 89,000 miles. Here is more information about this great car: Exterior: The exterior is racy and curvy. The front has wrap-a-round headlamps a split- nosed honey ... read more

Pros: It gets me back and forth.
Cons: Where to begin?
The Bottom Line: The car isn't good enough quality. Too many common, but expensive problems.

OMG. Where do I begin? I bought the car in '99 with 52,000 miles. Since then.. I've had a seriously bad oil leak (a quart every three weeks). The powersteering hose broke while I was moving out one day. The new tires I got rubbed for the first thousand ... read more

Jul 11, 2002 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Decent acceleration, handling, value, gas mileage
Cons: Noisy, dash rattling, quiet a few repairs
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't say the Grand Am is a bad car but it's not great either, if you want transportation I think the Grand AM will do fine.

We bought this car 97 with 30,000 miles on it. It was passed to me when it had 55,000 miles. My Grand AM has the optional sport package which gives it better handling and larger tires than the regular Grand AM SE. I've had quiet a few problems with ... read more

Pros: Nice looking, inexpensive, smooth ride
Cons: Expensive to repair, in the shop a lot
The Bottom Line: If you like spending a lot on repairs, then buy this car...otherwise, try something else.

We bought this car for about $3200 in October of 2001. It had about 108,000 miles on it. It was (still is) a nice looking car...the only problem we had with the exterior was that the back bumper faded a lot. As for the rest of the car...it just seems ... read more

Pros: Starts everyday,decent performance.
Cons: Interior materials.
The Bottom Line: A car if you need to just get back and forth to work everyday, and need trunk space.

Cons: Not for tall people, rough ride, squeeks and rattles in the dash.
The Bottom Line: This car made to the cheapest quality possible.

Ok where would I start from .... I bought this brand new from the dealership in 1995 and now have only 60000 miles. Let me tell you, I started to have problems with it when it was only 35000 miles, first was the driver's power window than the locks, ... read more

Pros: Easy car to drive. Great handling.
Cons: Less then adequate performance for a V-6. Gas mileage not great.
The Bottom Line: I recommend if safety is your prime concern. If you are looking for good power and performance, look else were.

Grand Am GT package contains 3.1 liter V-6, 150 horsepower, 2 doors, automatic transmission. I have owned this car for three years. It is the first car I have ever owned. I bought this car used at a price of $11,500. The seats are ... read more

The Bottom Line: Certainly a car worth owning--- it has been a wonderful car all the way around,,,easy to handle, fun to drive, comfortable on long trips, great gas mileage

We bought our 95 Grand Am V-6 new 6 years ago, and it has been a wonderful car. It now has nearly 130,000 miles on it, has never had a tune up (I know, I know), and STILL gets 27 miles/gallon. In the time we have had this car, our repair costs have been ... read more

I recently sold my 1995 Grand Am, so I thought I would post my opinions on it quick. In early 1996 I purchased it from a dealer with 3000 miles on it, it was clean and ran great. I didn't have an trouble other than road noise and rattles (which started ... read more

Pros: Fun car to drive. Very comfortable. Solid ride.
Cons: Gas guage, power window, seat adjuster, gas door to name a few.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend buying this car, it held up under some pretty tough conditions.

I bought my Grand Am in the spring of '96, and just traded it today. Although I experienced some problems, it is one of my all time favorite cars. I bought a '95 Grand Am SE Coupe(2 door), Quad 4 2.3 liter engine, power windows/locks, ... read more
