Last November, I was the proud owner of a 1992 Ford Taurus GL Sedan. It had truly served me well, but after 189,000 miles, my car finally gave out on me on my way home. I turned it off and tried to restart it. Nothing! Me and my dad hauled it back home ... read more

Pros: Reliability, good power (for engine size), routine maintenance is easy, gas mileage. Cons: Road noise, not especially comfortable, paint fades easily. The Bottom Line: My own Tercel's track record speaks for itself. Unsurpassed reliability makes the Tercel a sound purchase, although taller people my find it cramped.
Purchased new in '95, I have driven my stick-shift Tercel in every possible U.S. weather/road conditions in over 220,000 miles, and it still drives strong. Because of some very heavy demands placed on the engine (higher driving speeds, mountain travel, ... read more
