Pros: The comfort and power were a pleasant surprise. Cons: I hate the cupholders and my husband wants more room
Since I have to write my classified ad for my Volvo 850 Sedan, I might as well write one that will cost me a fortune in the newspaper. Tonight reality hit me as my husband drove our new car into the driveway. He could hardly contain his excitement and...

Pros: Great engine, roominess, understated plush factor (quality Volvo appointments), durability, RWD. Cons: "Check engine light" by sensor misreads, costly OEM parts for a young person's budget The Bottom Line: For a car that's withstood a diverse workload its entire life, it complained little. Some kinks, but mine does have 165k. The engine responds best to spirited driving.
My trusty 1995 Volvo 960 wagon was my first car, which I drove quite a bit throughout high school and part of college. So, I'll start from the beginning of my experience. My wagon was an awesome learner car. The 960 and S90/V90 were well made, with a ...

Pros: Styling, power, roominess Cons: none The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car with no hesitation
My daughter turns sixteen in a few weeks. I decided to buy her a car for her 16th birthday.
After rejecting her request for a 60's era beetle or a 55
Nash Metropolitan , we agreed on a Volvo.
She originally opposed the idea...

Pros: Smooth ride, powerful engine Cons: Heavy and drink holder in bad place
I personally did not buy this car. My parents own this Volvo of which I am speaking. When I got in my car accident, my parents still owned the car that was wrecked. Thusly, they got the money for the totaling of my Ford Tempo.
My father is...

Pros: Well-thought out design with lots of nice features Cons: Repairs are costly and hard to come by in some areas The Bottom Line: Great vehicle if you need extra room but don't want the heft or gas expense of an SUV.
I had pined for a Volvo wagon for several years before I finally broke down and bought my '95 850 GLT Wagon last year. I had been driving a '94 Camry, mostly because of the high reliability ratings of that car. I did a lot of research into the Volvo...

Pros: Speed/Power/Sportiness + Safety/Practicality = A happy husband and wife Cons: Slightly harsh ride on some surfaces, some rattles in interior
When your wife or other loved one gets in a severe accident, you really start rethinking what kind of car you want them to drive. We decided to buy a '95 850 Turbo (with 35,000 miles on the odo) after my wife was in a severe accident last year and have...

I bought this car used from my father in law. He loved it but replaces his car every 3 years (he leases) when this care came up off lease, I told him not to turn it in and let me buy out the lease.

Pros: safety and styling Cons: none
I've driven a Volvo 850 automatic transmission since 1995. When I was looking for a new car I considered the 850, the Ford Taurus, and the Saturn sedan. As I drove a volvo for many years before, I was all too aware of its fuddy-duddy notion. I found...

Pros: Luxurious, Spacious, So Nice to Drive Cons: Cupholders The Bottom Line: The Volvo 960 is the best Volvo I have ever driven, and my family now has 4 Volvos.
My Dad just bought a 1995 Volvo 960 Sedan for me and it is so wonderful. The care had 99,000 miles on it but it drives like new, feels like new, and looks like new. The car is very powerful and has very good acceleration. The leather seats are...

I have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo (predecessor to the S70) that I bought because I wanted a spacious, safe, and reliable family car that was still fun to drive and had more personality than the Accord or Camry.
What I love about this vehicle: ...

Pros: Solid, high-performance luxury car, plenty of legroom, top quality Cons: cup holder broke after 4 years.
I bought this car to replace a 1983 Mercedes 300D. Leg room, features and performance all made this car a step up from the Mercedes. In addition, the car has had no major failures (a cup holder broke last year) and still drives nicely at 5 years. ...

Pros: reliability, saftey, heating and AC, smoothness in driving Cons: price, boxy look
For my 21st birthday, I was given this car by my parents. Although it doesn't look very "sporty" I decided to go along with my "saftey obsessed" father and give it a chance. While HE was drooling all over the side-impact airbags,...

I purchased my 1995 850 Turbo, automatic, sedan in late November 1997 with 35,000 miles on the "clock." Having driven a 760 Turbo for several years prior to this purchase, I'd come to appreciate the quality and safety built into Volvos. What...
