Small Truck / Big Heart

by
Dec 6, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Can be a work-horse; great MPG; good get-up and go speed
Cons: Small (they don't call them compacts for nothing); no room for Teen-agers in back

To be honest I bought a small truck, because at the time (1996) I could not afford a big truck. What I didn't know is that I was getting a small truck with a big heart. I have loaded that truck down with horse feed, hay, equipment, building ... read more

Pros: looks hot, plenty of room, easy drive
Cons: identical to a Ford in many ways

We took our first road trip this weekend. We had not only the trailer and the bed filled but the cab has so much room. Whether you are packing an extra person or cargo, you are sure to fit it all in this bad boy. I thought my 1996 Mazda B4000 had ... read more

Pros: Comfy seats, Great handling
Cons: POWER!!!!!

I was just recently given a 96 mazda B2300 truck. Now I am not going to make any serious complaints about the car because I did not have to pay one cent for it, but I will tell ya about it. It has a 2.3L I4 engine rated at just under 100 h.p. While this ... read more

Perfect for us

by
Feb 16, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Power, good ground clearance, easy to switch to 4wd
Cons: Have had the wiper motor and idle motor die. Check engine light tends to come on after driving on a bumpy road, dealer told me to ignore.

I own a 1996 Mazda B-4000 SE and it is the perfect vehicle for us. The extended cab allows good storage for a truck and seatbelts for 5 if needed. The truck has plenty of ground clearance and is pretty solidly built. I live in an area where there are ... read more

Great little truck

by
Feb 7, 2000 - Updated Jul 13, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Quiet, fun to drive, reliable
Cons: Small cab

First of all, let me qualify this by saying that the B2300 is not a heavy-hauler. The 2.3L engine lacks the power to haul large loads, and the owner's manual specifically states that the towing capacity is light or zero, depending upon the ... read more

Mixed Bag of Nuts

Feb 5, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Good quality pick up
Cons: minor flaws in design

I sold my 1996 B2300 today. It was (still is most likely) red with an extended cab. I loved that my 4 year old could ride in the back jump seat without a car seat and that my 2 year old's car seat fit in the other back jump seat. I used the truck for ... read more

Best vehicle money spent ever

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Value, value value. Best vehicle money I ever spent!
Cons: Roominess. Not a word associated with these trucks.
Looking for value-added? At 225,000KM I have had to spend next to nothing on this little truck. It is "spent" now, and I am considering another Ranger/B Series because I am so impressed with how this little truck performed. I work in engineering and I ... read more
