Camaro V6 Manual: Better than I thought but Still Disappointing

by bettega
Nov 25 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: RWD, V6 has low end torque, low speed handling, cheap, low to ground.
Cons: Impractical, snow traction, uncomfortable, poor build quality, transmission, motor, exhaust note, responsiveness.
The Bottom Line: I am not surprised that this car sold poorly and was discontinued. It had virtually nothing to offer in its price-range when new.

A while back when I still had passion for American muscle cars I went to one of the largest car dealers in my state. There were hundreds of different cars of many different brands available on the lot and I thought that I could have the best chance of ...

by d2junkie
Dec 03 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Durable build quality, handling, adequate power
Cons: Plasticky interior, moderate tuning could have produced more power
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want a good Camaro that will last a while and look good. Good, spirited American car.

When people speak of a 3800 Series II-powered Chevrolet Camaro, it's either Corvette or Z28 owners mocking them or teenage girls hailing them. I think those same Corvette/Z28 owners could take a cue from the girls and give one a drive before cursing it, ...

Ok, I'm a disgrace! I own a V-6 (3.8)... I'm so sorry! It's an RS for really slow. Not really, I love my car, Camaros' are so much fun to drive, and you can feel the surge of power when you hit the gas! Although it's a (V-6), I'm working on ...

The Bottom Line: An even better value used than new!

What I Enjoy About This Car
The Camaro is fun to drive as well as respected by any true American. Mine has always started easily and accelerated flawlessly (except when the plugs and wires went bad at 40K miles). The Camaro is one of Chevrolet's...

Pros: fast, handles well
Cons: cramped in back

The 1996 Chevy Camaro Z28 is a fast nice handling car that I think will
just devour almost any car that tries to race it. The car has some major
power that you can use to burn out in almost any gear. This car not only
has power but also...

Feb 24 '00 - Updated Jul 29 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Power in it's class, comfort for two, glued to the road, and cost effective
Cons: Cargo space, no inexpensive upgrades that add significant power, bulky
The Bottom Line: I recommend the purchase of an RS simply for the ground effects package your receive with it. It will set you apart from the rest of the driving public.

Camaros where created soley to take on the some of the billion dollar market that the Mustang was eating alive. Although the Camaro never did beat out the Mustang in gross sales or popularity, the Mustang never did beat out the Camaro in horsepower or...

I own a chevrolet camaro and I would never give it up or sell it. It is one of the nicest cars I've had in my life. I had a Monte Carlo SS and that was a pretty awesome car until I traded it for a brand new camaro. This camaro will last me forever if...

I purchased my Camaro on my birthday, May 1996. I love my car just for me. It is a small, cute car, but definitely not for family. Since my purchase I have become a "NANA". Trying to get babies & all their gear in this car is a chore. The...

Pros: High performance, high quality, affordable price, looks that kill
Cons: too many people opting for the competition, you can never seem to get traction :-)

The Chevrolet Camaro has been a household name for 33 model years now. From its very beginning in 1967, it was hailed as a true muscle car. Chevrolet is still cranking out these ponies in the same fashion. If you are looking for a great looking, high...

Camaros are one of the few cars we can call a 'classic' For people who havn't owned one such as myself until 12 months ago, must wonder what all the fuss is about and why Cameros are still popular to this day.

I've had my Z28 for almost 5 years now, and I am still extremely happy with it.
