Pros: good mpg for a 4wd truck; comfortable to drive long distances, 3rd door great convenience, lots of room in the ext. cab Cons: no locking storage inside cab; had to replace frt brake pads at 40k; jump seat a waste of money
I have owned my 1996 S-10 4WD 5- speed ext. cab 3-door PU for more than 4 years - bought new in May 96 - and it has been a nearly flawless truck. It is my third ext. cab S-10 and second 4WD S-10. The others were equally good. It has been in the shop...

Pros: Beautiful Truck, Lots of power Cons: A little hard on gas. The Bottom Line: If you can find one of these babies and the price is right, go for it. I'm glad I did.
After my experiences with my wife's POS Hyundai Elantra (see other review), this truck is a dream to own and drive.
I bought it with just over 65000 on the odometer last year and to this day, nothing has broken. Nothing. What a refreshing...

Pros: Good gas mileage, always starts Cons: Hard to work on (V6), nickel-dimes me on parts The Bottom Line: Buy it if you have extra money to keep it running well; avoid it if you like to do your own work.
When I initially bought this truck I was very pleased. Really, I was happy to not be driving a Ranger anymore. However, there wasn't much difference. This vehicle is just as hard to get to things under the hood as a compact Ford PU. I knew I was in...

Pros: great little pickup Cons: but only if you trade every 3 years
I bought my S-10 pickup new and for a small-sized truck, it goes just about anywhere. Chevrolet says that it won't need a tune-up until it reaches 100,000 miles. They're probably correct in that assumption. However, they didn't mention that I would...

Pros: Very good gas millage for a V6
Ride quality is very good
Cons: Turning radius is very bad
The Bottom Line: I recommend this truck to anyone, this truck has been a very good truck, reliable, and rides very good for a truck.
At first I did not like S-10's, but then I bought one. The S-10 I got is red, it is the standard cab model, it has a 5 speed transmission, and has the L35 option engine which has 190hp. I have been very impressed with the truck. It has plenty of power...

Pros: Awesome Power, Good Off-Roading, Durable, Interior, Comfortable, Acceleration, Doesn't Vibrate Cons: Bad Gas Mileage, Bad Turning Radius, ABS recall, brake pads wear quickly The Bottom Line: I love this truck. I'm very glad I picked it for a first vehicle. It's basically just a very small work truck. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
I didn't expect so much horsepower and torque from such a small engine. I have the High Output 262 and it can blow away some Mustangs. I've put this truck through so much stuff since I bought it used and it shows no signs of breaking down or...

Pros: ..... Cons: Engine, transmission, front end parts, electrical, rusts in rear of cab easily, cooling, build quality.
This truck was easily the worst vehicle i have ever owned. Regardless of what other reviewers say the truck is a piece of garbage. My S10 had only 145,000 miles on it when 2 pistons stopped firing, and the water pump went. I sold the truck for a miniscule 500 dollars and was completely disappointed in the build quality. Chevy sure does live up to its reputation as on of the worst car manufactures. I as a mechanic can tell you that this truck wont be reliable and you should look else were for a pickup truck. Don't waste your time with a Chevrolet, i know that i wont ever again. I forgot to mention i replaced the front tie rods and the electrical went.
