Pros: Fuel efficient, Reliable, Long lasting, Comfortable and virtually never breaks! Cons: Jerky transmission, Some ergonomic flaws, Dated materials, poor structural rigidity and poor ride quality. The Bottom Line: You'll probably get tired of driving it long before it throws in the towel.
About the 1994-1997 Honda Accord: The Honda Accord was introduced in 1976 as a larger alternative to the Honda Civic. By 1994, the Accord had already evolved from four generations. The 5th generation (beginning in 1994) Accord was powered ...

Pros: Reliability, fuel economy, ride, overall design. Cons: Power window motor, exhaust rattling at 80k miles, brakes too small. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended, does everything well, no problems, a joy to own. After being around mine for years, 2 friends bought their own.
Purchased when new '96 Accord LX 4-cylinder. Served as a reliable everyday driver, long hauler on vacations, snow thrower in the winters, and about everything else in between. After 8 years and 135,000 miles, proved bullet-proof, but ultimately not ...

This is another in a series of re-writes I occasionally do of opinions I wrote soon after I first joined that eventually seemed woefully inadequate.

Pros: Looks great, excellent ride, great gas mileage. Cons: 4 cyl. engine on hills, paint quality The Bottom Line: A Honda Accord is a classy money saver and is good for everyone all around.
Sure, you may think re-sale values are high but when you think about it, this car is an all around money saver. In November (2000), I bought this car for $10,000. I got a special deal on it since the dealer is my friend. It was listed for $12,995. ...

Pros: Well-built and good gas mileage Cons: Not a pickup and one problem with windows.
My girlfriend purchased a 1984 Honda Accord LX sedan in 1989. It had 66,000 miles, and other than a necessary timing belt replacement it lasted as a reliable transportation vehicle until May 1996. Guess what type of car we purchased then? Yup, another...

Pros: comfy, inexpensive, and good for long trips Cons: small trunk space
The Honda Accord is one of the best buys on the road. With the appearance of a larger sports car, the Accord is not only safe but also sporty. It has four-passenger cargo with lots of room and comfort. Bucket seats are a plus for small children. The...

Pros: great acceleration, very reliable Cons: Honda never has rebates!
There is a big difference between a $12,000 car and a $22,000 car. That difference is well demonstrated by the Accord V-6. Sporting the same engine as the Acura Legend, this car has more than enough power, and comfortably drives 90 MPH on the...

Pros: reliability, fit and finish, superior gas mileage Cons: Boring at times, smallish feel
I bought my 1996 Accord in late 98. It has been, quite frankly, the best car I have ever owned.
Maintenance is minimal. Though I have yet to push my Accord to the maufacturer's allowed 7500 miles per oil change, I have not had to spend any...

In November of 1995 I bought a 1996 Honda Accord 4 door sedan. After test driving several comparable models; the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry and a Mazda, we decided on the Honda. In the test drives the Honda has the best pick-up, smoothest ride and was...

Pros: great design, amazing performance, reliability, high resale value Cons: too many out on the road
Back in 1986 my parents had a huge decision in front of them. Choosing the coveted Honda Accord or the Cutlass Sierra. At that time the Accord was establishing its rep, while the Cutlass offered more space and comfort. I was pulling for the more...

I bought my 1996 Honda Accord LX when I first began college. It has been driven about 101,000 miles (mostly city!!) with relatively no problems other than slow power windows. Reliability is its key feature; I have not performed any maintenance to the...
