Pros: handling, safety, multi-use vehicle Cons: storage may be limited
The saying goes “there’s only one Jeep”. Talk to any Jeep owner and they will usually rave about their Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I started researching SUV in 1998, I decided that most were extremely overpriced. So I decided to buy a used 1996 model....

Pros: Beautiful lines, solid as a rock, great power & handling, bulletproof drivetrain, excellent crash protection. Cons: Not the greatest gas mileage (16 town 23-25 hiway) but who cares. The Bottom Line: Find a well-cared for XJ and drive it happily forever.
I bought my '96 Sport (Classic pkg.) a year ago from an individual. It had 90000 miles, I've now added another 10000 and am more smitten with this marvelous little truck every day. I'd like to put the previous owners in my will for the beautiful ...

Pros: Sleek look, plenty of space, great gas mileage.... Cons: Like most vehicles, you'll have to get through the car salesman before it becomes yours.
I personally haven't experienced too many of the new wave SUV's that have been flooding the market the last few years. But this is mainly due to the fact that I have no reason for a massive Sport Utility Vehicle. See, it's all in the title. I do not...

Pros: drives like a car, safer than a car Cons: cargo space, gas consumption.
I love our Jeep. Eventhough we bought it slightly used, it still felt like a new car to us. In 1997, we decided to buy a used late model 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The dealer made us an offer we couldn't refuse, plus he through in an extra year on the...

It's a JEEP thing! What does that mean anyway...never quite got it, but I do have a Jeep and I LOVE it! I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. We bought it in 1997 with only 50 miles on it, it now has over 61,000. I will NEVER go back to a car and any...

Pros: Great power for passing people, reliable 4 wheel drive system Cons: Bumpy ride, handling around corners is questionable, gas mileage could be better
When an SUV is mentioned, the Jeep Corporation is usually the example given. Jeep has a long and reputible reputation for producing some of the most solid and well built sport utility vehicles out on the market today. I have owned the Jeep Cherokee...

I purchased a 4x4 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee back in 1997. It seemed to drive fairly well at the beginning. A few months later, however, it seemed to sway every time I turned a corner. I took it in, and sure enough, my sway bar was broken. $200 and 3...

Pros: Excellent riding SUV compared to the other popular SUVs Cons: No major problems The Bottom Line: As far as the ride goes, this SUV is (or was) near the top of the pile. Has performed (and worn) exceptionally well for me.
After three years in a Cherokee Sport, I moved up to the Grand Cherokee for the better ride. And there IS a major difference in the ride of a Sport compared to that of the Grand Cherokee. The standard Cherokee was on the rocky side (meaning a little ...
