Pros: The car has four roll bars, and is balanced so that you can drive at up to a 45 degree angle and not feel the roll of the car. (when exiting a freeway it doesn't feel like the car will roll). Compared to other SUVs, the Discovery rides more like a car. I l Cons: There are a couple things that bug me about the car. The height of the car makes it difficult to park in some parking garages, you need at least a 6'6" clearance. The power door locks are only controlled from the drivers lock. (you have to physically
I leased my discovery in '96. I looked at several of the SUVs in the same class. For price and what you get I found the Discovery to be the best deal. It comes fully loaded with what others give only as options.
The new Discoverys are really...

Pros: Comfortable, Nice design Cons: Awful quality, very unreliable and expensive

Pros: Spacious & rugged: A true 4-wheel drive. Cons: Expensive to maintain--Gas hog.
This is not your average SUV. This vehicle is a true four-wheel drive. It is a truck. Does it have little noises here and there? Yes! Does it roll around the corners a bit? Yes! It's a TALL vehicle. It's not going to ride like a car when it comes...

Pros: Looks great Cons: Shoddy, very expensive for everything
I purchased this '96 used with 58,000 miles. From day one it was obvious I had made a mistake. Finally insisted the dealer take it back for a '98 Lincoln Navigator. Will happen in a week.
My first impression of comfort, interior size with 7...

Pros: Handles great in mud and gets lots of looks Cons: Too much to mention
I bought my 1996 Landrover Discovery SE in November of 1999. I owned a 1990 Rangerover in 95' and fell in love with it, only to give it up after my brother convinced me to buy his Chevy Z71 pick up truck. Well, after owning the truck for 1 yr. 1/2, I...

Pros: Best off-road SUV by far, great visibility, comfortable. Cons: Weak engine, high maintenance, limited dealers, poor reliability The Bottom Line: Overall it's a great truck with a lot of character and fantastic off road performance which compromises it's on road performance but not as much as it should.
This is a truck that is becoming more and more watered down from it's roots of a durable, reliable and capable off-road truck. But the basis is still there.
I bought my Disco as an all around vehicle - a four wheeled dirt bike, a dirt...

Back in January of 1999 I began looking for a new truck that would not only ride smooth, have plenty of room, but also have that rugged look that the truck market has lost. The new F-Series and Silverado truck lines are becoming very rounded and no...

I drove a friends 1995 Discovery during the Summer of 2006 and spent the next 6 months searching for one of my own. I finally bought a 1996 top-of-the-line SE7 and love it. It looks great and I love the huge (and abundance of) windows. Interior ...
