Pros: Reliability, Gas Mileage, Low repair costs if needed and cheap parts. Drives semi-sporty. Cons: Rear seats small. Poor Defrost/Defog. sketchy on windy Interstate over 75 m.p.h The Bottom Line: Buy one with low/meduim miles and well cared for. You'll be very happy you did. VERY HAPPY
I bought my 1996 Corolla in 2006. It had 80 thousand miles and was a one owner car. This car had every oil change and factory service done from the original Toyota dealership. ( Heffner Toyota ) I was concerned if it was time for a timing belt ... read more

Pros: Base model doesn't have some features (like tilt steering) that should be standard. Cons: Safe, economical, tough, comfortable. Perfect commuter car! The Bottom Line: This little car has a big heart. She is agile, quick, safe, and incredibly reliable. Change her oil every 3K miles and she'll go forever!
I have to write and tell you about this car. I bought it used in 2001 when it had 65,000 miles on it. We immediately replaced the timing chain, and replaced the clutch at 160,000 miles. Other than oil changes, it has never needed any other work. It ... read more

Pros: Excellent value, great mileage, dependable in the extreme, nimble, and peppy on the freeway Cons: Loud on the freeway (inside) The Bottom Line: This is the very best auto I've ever owned. Great mileage, is small yet roomy where I need it, peppy on the freeway, never broken down
I bought this car for $1000 used (obviously) from a Russian family who had just moved to the west coast from Minnesota. The car was parked under a tree, and covered with black tree droppings. It looked disgusting, despite the lack of dents. It had ... read more

Pros: Great fuel economy, reasonably quiet ride, reliable so far. Cons: Back seat cramped compared to new models, doesn't have all the latest safety features. The Bottom Line: Definitely recommended for someone looking for a good used car that's economical and trustworthy.
I'm going to do this as a long-term reliability test. In other words, I will update this review on a semi-regular basis to discuss the reliability of the car. When our 1983 Corolla recently had a problem with its electrical system, my dad decided to ... read more

Pros: Reasonably reliable Cons: No front leg room, bad brakes, overpriced, overrated, lacks personality The Bottom Line: I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying a Corolla, as they are decent vehicles. But you can get a much better value and actually a better car from Dodge or Saturn.
I actually don't own this car, but my girlfriend does, and since I'm the one who always seems to drive it on long trips, I've probably driven it more than she does.

Pros: It's a car and it takes you places. Cons: Size-very small, passengers complain about leg room. It's noisy. It has very small air vents. The Bottom Line: Please don't buy a Corolla unless it's your only option. A school bus would be better to drive.

My wife and I own a 1996 Corolla DX and I must say, I'm impressed. At the same time, I must say she bought it just before she met me. I'm more of a performance car guy, but you have to respect this machine for what it does, how inexpensive it is and ... read more
