It's Big, Chevy Tough And A Gas Hog!

by
May 21, 2005 - Updated Jul 25, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Lots of room, comfortable seats and can pull anything!
Cons: Bad gas mileage!
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is driving a dulley!

We bought this 1-ton truck new and have been enjoying it ever since! The reason we wanted a 1-ton is because we needed it to pull our 32 ft. camper. We have now graduated to a 36 ft. 5th Wheel and it still has no problems whatsoever pulling it. It is a ... read more

My mid-life crisis dream truck has been a real disappointment.

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Good ride for a heavy pickup, comfortable.
Cons: Engine problems, poor brakes.
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend a Chevy truck. GM avoids making good on known defects, but rather profiteers from them by charging exorbitant prices for replacement parts.

I ordered my 1997 Chevy K3500 Silverado new from the factory. My dealer gave me a great deal. Howe ... read more

Great Truck

Jan 3, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Strong Engine, Solid Truck
Cons: Gas Mileage
The Bottom Line: If you need a Heavy Duty 4x4 for hauling or towing the k2500 is excellent at just that.

I bought a used 1997 Standard Cab long Bed K2500 8 months ago showing 80,000 miles on the odometer. I had been driving a '97 S10 (4.3 liter/5 spd/4x4) and while this was a great little truck I needed something more heavy duty and with a larger bed for ... read more

Ever since this truck was purchased it has been nothing but trouble. Seven trips back to the dealer in 3 years. About 2 months after the truck was bought I noticed the oil pressure was dropping tremendously when the accelerator was not being applied, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: tough, durable, powerful
Cons: small back seat

I have been driving my current Chevy Truck for almost a little over two years. Two years might seem like a short time, but I have had excellent results from my truck. Not only does it provide the intangibles of power, toughness, durability, and towing ... read more

Cons: back seat area has no leg room for passengers

We purchased a 1997 Chevy Silverado when it was new and have not been sorry since. This is a great truck. This vehicle rides smooth and the power is great. The steering on it handles a lot better than some of the older trucks, it handles more like a car, ... read more

I have had my 1997 K-2500 extended cab, with an eight foot bed, Vortex 350, 4 speed automatic truck for over a year and love it. I have found no other truck in it's class that compares to it. I haul a trailer that weights about 7000 pounds with it mostly ... read more
