Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great maneuverability, good gas mileage, inexpensive used price.
Cons: Small 13 inch wheels, road noise
The Bottom Line: Good little car, wouldn't mind buying one 4my kids to learn driving or as an economic commuter car 4myself. But for comfort, size and reliability I'd rather opt 4a Neon.

First a little history Back in 1998 we bought a very basic Dodge Neon that worked quite well for us. When I was pregnant with my 1st child we traded it in for a new 2000 Plymouth Neon. The '98 Dodge Neon handled great and had no problems, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: inexpensive, it gets the job done
Cons: underpowered, poor gas mileage for such a small car, not attractive & expensive parts
The Bottom Line: This is not a well engineered car.

My wife got this car brand new from her father when she was in college. The car has made it now almost 10 years but for the last year we've been waiting for it to die. Wife rear-ended someone about 1 month ago and this weekend the hood flew off in ... read more

First Car

by
Jul 31, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliable, good economy, and cute
Cons: Power and dents easily
The Bottom Line: For what you pay for it, this car is more than worth it. It is dependable and get decent gas mileage. Get it if you want a good first car.

My dad bought me this car used in 1999 with less than 20,000 miles. We have had no major mechanical problems with it. Someone did hit me in a parking lot, going very slow, and there is a fairly large dent in the door from that. There is more room ... read more

Not exactly BUILT TOUGH.

by
Jun 8, 2002 - Updated Apr 23, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Excellent fuel economy, Used Price's
Cons: 3-speed automatic, Engine, interior, exterior, resale value.
The Bottom Line: My final Recommendation would be to find another car if at all possible, even if it's older, that offers close to the same fuel economy, but offers much more integrity.

Like the Geo/Chevrolet Metro, the tiny Ford Aspire has the same ultimate goal in mind; excellent fuel economy between point A to point B transportation. If you buy the Ford Aspire, and 'aspire' something from ... read more

When I saw this aspire I just wanted to have it because it was what I was looking for, small, economic, dependable and in excellent body conditions. It was almost brand new. I bough it with 19,000 miles so far I have never have to take to the mechanic. My ... read more

Pros: great handling in the hills!
Cons: typical small car(Room for Two)

As a former employee of Ford, I found the Aspire as a wonderfully refreshing replacement to the Festiva. My first Festiva went about 18,000 miles before the rings came unseated, and blew the oil out.. The Aspire engineers have cured this problem, ... read more

Pros: Excellent gas mileage, large cargo space
Cons: Noisy, rough ride

The annual inspection was due on my 1990 Mustang and I knew the chances of it passing were pretty slim. The front tires had minimal tread left, the brakes made stopping an exciting challenge, and the blue smoke starting to come out of the exhaust pipe ... read more

I Hate My Car

by
Sep 17, 2000 - Updated Nov 23, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Lots of trunk space; pretty darn good gas mileage
Cons: Looks stupid; available in only a few colors; has a tiny, unmanageable engine; and God help you if you get a flat tire - almost no one carries the Aspire's size.

I'm not a car person. I see a vehicle only as a means to get from point "A" to point "B." I don't know about cylinders or "x-liter engines" or anything like that - I don't care. Never have, and probably never will. ... read more
