Background I have owned a 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX with the 4.6L V8 engine for almost two years now. I purchased it in January 2002. During that time, I have had the opportunity to put on almost 40,000 miles on the vehicle. I have sincerely enjoyed ...

Pros: Fun, Quick, Sporty Coupe with real heritage Cons: Defective Intake Manifold, no Manual Tranny, no ABS.
I'm an American...and I make no apologies. I've always loved American cars, especially Fords. My first car was a 1966 Mustang which I got when I was 16, nearly 10 years ago...I still own that car.
When I graduated college, and moved to a...

Pros: Sporty but family type. Cons: None that I know of.
We bought our Ford Thunderbird in April l999. Obviously it was a used car. It is a l997 and it had 28,000 miles on it. I thought that was a lot of miles for a car (we have been use to buying "little old lady cars".
You know the kind...

Pros: sleek and roomy Cons: Last year 1997, a new 2002 two seater is out The Bottom Line: These classic American Cruisers are history. If you want to drive a collectors item, have reliable and stylish transportation, grab a '97 and enjoy.
I have owned a 1985 Ford T-Bird, 1992 Mercury Cougar and now a 1997 Ford T-Bird. These are all essentially the same cars, given differences for model years. These cars are virtually indestructible for American manufactured autos. The '85 went 128K miles,...

I have enjoyed my 1997 Thunderbird greatly. I bought it used in 2000 with 44k on it and have since driven it to 182k and still going strong. I have never been disappointed by the amenities on this vehicle. The seats are very comfortable (I have ...

I bought my 1997 Thunderbird new in August of 1997 primarily for business travel use. I got $5,000 off the list price, which was nice, and the car has been problem free ever since. The 4.6 liter V-8 runs strong and well. I have added a K&N air filter and...

Pros: Great looks, great power, great price. Cons: Sits very low and is a bit of a struggle to enter and exit.
In February of '97, I went to a Ford dealer thinking about buying a pickup truck. They has a 1997 T-Bird sitting near the showroom. It was Laser Red and had chrome wheels. I bought it for $18,000.00 and it's been the best car I ever had. Now, with over 86,000 miles on the odometer, it still looks and runs like it did when it was brand new. The V8 motor is way more powerful than it is supposed to be, yet I consistently get 25 mpg on the highway. Other than a faded rear bumper, the paint is still beautiful.
I plan to keep this car as long as I'm alive.
