Pros: Fantastic suspension and ride, nice styling, fast roadside service Cons: Poor transmission design, ABS brakes are very noisy
The dreaded and awful thing happened to me yesterday. As everyone knows, I am a BIG Las Vegas fan and visit Las Vegas quite frequently. I almost always drive to Las Vegas since it is only a short 260 miles from Orange County, California. Plus I like to...

Pros: GREAT RIDE, DEPENDABLE, FUN TO DRIVE Cons: EXCESSIVE BRAKE WEAR, DEALERSHIP HOURS
In December 1996, I wanted a nice Sport Utility Vehicle that was comfortable and roomy for my 5'-10" frame. I checked out the Ford Explorer (too boxy) and Japanese imports (too small). GMC won, why? See below:

Pros: Has it all for a great price Cons: I only wish I waited a few years so I can have the new body style
We bought our 1997 when it was a year old to be my "mommy" ride. We wanted a vehicle that would be safe and handle well in the snow, yet also offer a more car-like ride, and that was NOT a mini-van. : ) We test drove many other SUV's, Ford...

Pros: Looks, 4x goes anywhere, comfortable Cons: BRAKES!!!, Quality
I bought this vehicle because in New England there's a lot of snow. Here's my thoughts. The vehicle is unstoppable in the snow. That's a good and bad thing. I can hardly peel out on the snow and ice in 4 wheel drive. Jokingly I've told people I'd...

I have always been a Chevrolet/GMC fan and when my husband's GEO Prism got almost totaled by a Suburban, we decided to go with something a little more sturdy. We looked at the Ford Explorer and the Dodge Durango but both cost more for what seemed to be...

I bought this Jimmy in January. Which is one of the best months to purchase a 4WD vehicle where the snow flys. I love this thing. It handles so nicely, it is like driving on air.

Pros: Fuel economy, ride Cons: problems The Bottom Line: Do not buy this- it will end up costing a lot of money and you might become stranded!
Basically, I like the GMC Jimmy for a good vehicle to drive, ride in, and carry things in. I also usually average about 22 miles per gallon. However, there are some problems people should know about this vehicle. For the first two years, it was great....

I purchased my 97 Jimmy to haul three teenagers and still get fuel economy. My 6 ft and 6-2 boys fit comfortably in the rear seats. The 4.3 Vortec engine is spirited yet I average about 20 mph in 2wd. 4wd drops the mileage somewhat. The interior is...

Pros: Very durable and stylish vehicle Cons: rising gas prices
I have had my SUV for almost a year and it has 141K miles and had only had to put brakes on it, it has been a very reliable vehicle to go to the cabin and haul a ATV or boat, i had no problems that were out of the ordinary that is normal wear/tear that any other vehicle would have. Very easy maintenance the only bad thing i would have to say is the gas and with gas prices rising its not helping but overall i am very pleased with my vehicle.

Pros: Good, hauls well, tows well. Cons: tons of $200 problems
On or about 60K miles, my gas gage quit working.
About every 2 years I need a new alternator.
I drive in the DC area and I always needed to replace my brakes every 12 months or so, I find ceramic brakes quite better and last considerably longer.
I had replaced all three oxygen sensors this year (2005); the check engine light finally went off.
I have a bad accessories electrical fuse(the large one) that got very hot and is bad. I replaced it and the new one popped in less than 10 minutes. No new additions to the truck, so I wonder the problem.
