Pros: Performance, drive-ability, comfort. Cons: Expensive repair potential, depreciation.
I own and operate a used-car dealership, but instead of relying on sales tactics to earn a profit, the technical and mechanical knowledge I've accumulated from over 20 years as a "car nut" helps me offer an inventory of dependable...

Pros: Engine, Handling (for its size) Cons: Transmission, Reliability, Quality
I bought my 97 Mark VIII LSC (41k miles) in June of '99, trading in a 1995 Thunderbird V-8. One of the main reasons for purchasing the Mark VIII was the performance and refinement provided by the DOHC V-8.
Within 2 weeks of taking delivery...

Pros: Luxury, power and size in the same package. Attractive, unique styling. Cons: Fuel economy (V8), quality issues, pricey to maintain/fix, not as plush as expected. The Bottom Line: American luxury. Great for its time. Outdated in features by newcomers. Could be a hot-rod in a tux, but not a Lexus.
Update 4: January 2005. The "puddle lamp" built into the driver's side mirror stopped working. (Puddle lamps are a nifty feature built into the bottom of the exterior rearview mirrors and they light up both sides of the car, where you and your ...

You could call me a car nut. I fully admit it. I LOVE cars. Everything about them. I have a respect for all cars, but a few in particular keep a special place in my ardor. The Lincoln Mark VIII is one of them.

Pros: Looks, Power, Neon brakelamp, HID headlights, LSC package Cons: Fuel consumption, Abundance of plastic inside The Bottom Line: Skip the base model and go for one that has the LSC package or is a Collector's Edition version.
This makes the second Lincoln that I have owned. The first, being a used '97 Continental that I had less than a year; had to get rid of that one due to problems with the ABS and an estimate north of $700 to repair. About a year and a half after ...

Pros: Power, styling, luxury. Cons: If not well maintained, can be a problem. The Bottom Line: One of Lincoln/Ford's best autos ever!!
It is a shame Lincoln is no longer building this car, just when they got it right!! It is a perfect combination of power, speed, luxury, and styling. With all of the instrumentation inside, it is a driver's car that is a cross between a jet fighter ...
