Pros: Quick, runs great w/ hi mi, looks, turbo, fun, inexpensive to upgrade engine, great balance! Cons: transmissions have bad reputation, no torque like a V8 The Bottom Line: If your looking for a sporty well built car w/ good gas mileage, this is your car. Watch out for the tranny, don't beat it up.
I bought my GS-T for $5,000 with high miles, 100,000 on the engine. The car runs like it just drove out of the factory. Previous owner is a kid but runs like it was owned by an old man, and has extensive bolt on modifications done to the engine when i ...

Pros: Reliable
Good Looking
Inexpensive to own Cons: None The Bottom Line: This has been the best car I've ever owned and I've have many. It's stylish, gets good gas mileage and is virtually trouble free. I have no complaints.
My list of past cars includes: Fiero, Grand Prix, Celica, Neon, Mustang, 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees. This little car has been the best and most reliable of them all. She's sweet on gas for a sports car, she looks hot and she has always taken good care of me. ...

Pros: fast, great handling, turbo, looks amazing, reliable, easily customized, great trunk space, head-turner Cons: turning radius, visibility, pretty much no back seat, i hate leather seats The Bottom Line: This car is great. Amazing handling, fast, customizable, and a total head-turner. The positive FAR outweighs the negative.
I just bought my 97 GS-T this year (2006) and let me tell you, it's the best purchase I've ever made, hands down. I originally wanted the 99 GS-X (the all-wheel-drive model) but I found this one for a great price and decided to get it. SO glad I did. ...

Pros: Looks and power, when it worked Cons: Really cheaply made, not reliable in the least, I walked more than I drove! The Bottom Line: Please don't relive my experience! Buy a different car!
Being that I was 19 years old and getting rid of a 1989 Honda Accord, I wanted something more fun and with more power. Upon looking into different vehicles I decided on the '97 Eclipse GS-T Spyder because of its power and great looks, not to mention I ...

Pros: Looks great, fun to drive, decent gas mileage for a turbo. Cons: Unreliable, and everything likes to break. The Bottom Line: Buy this car if you are up for the high maintenance, it's fun. For those looking for a reliable sports car, I hear Toyota has a few.
I love this car, I want to state that right off the bat before I slam it in every way. I purchased this car used with 75K miles on it October of 2003 from City Limit Auto in Johnston Rhode Island (never buy a car here, ever). I had been driving it a week ...

Pros: Nice body design, cd player anti-theft. Cons: engine and car problems. The Bottom Line: Ok car if you have the money to place into the engine.
My husband and I have owned a 1997 Eclipse RS since it was released in 1997. The car currently has 85,000 miles on it and in good shape. The engine has been a huge cost factor for us. The computer had to replaced once as it would continiously give ...

Pros: Great handling!! Cons: For a car this hot, it could go faster. The Bottom Line: If you want a high performance vehicle without paying a lot of money, a 97 Eclipse is DEFINITELY what you'll want.
Never have I had more pleasure in my life than when I was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. She was white with 18" rims and an electric blue leather interior. She had handling that I have never before experienced, speed that could not be topped, and...

Pros: Sunroof
stereo Cons: too many to list The Bottom Line: For the money they are asking, Toyota has a comparable model. They are known to last over 200,000 miles.
I purchased the Eclipse RS and I thought that it was a good car. I loved the cherry red color, sporty look and smaller frame. From the old saying "If I knew know, what I didn't know then", it applies like a bee to honey.
This car is awful. I...

I bought my 1997 RS Eclipes at 37,000 miles. The car is bright red and i added 17 inch rims to it, and tinted window. I do not recommend changing the rims of this car any bigger then the manufacter says. The car may look fast but a Honda Accord could...

I purchased my Eclipse RS in August of 1997 brand new. It was a standard, had a sun roof, AC, and that is about it. It was my first car out of college and the first car I had ever bought without my parents. This little car was the best thing I had ever...
