Pros: Fun! Sporty! Cons: Way too reliable and long-lived. The Bottom Line: A great car to drive until it won't go any more. That way, depreciation doesn't matter.
I'd love to get a new car, but my 1997 Mirage LS coupe just keeps going and going and...you get the idea. This despite my not always treating it as well as I could have. Backed it into a tree (twice) after which my wife did the same thing. The tree is ... read more

Pros: ECONOMY (41MPG), styling, engine responsiveness. Cons: Seat comfort, no air-conditioning, handling on corners, cost to repair. The Bottom Line: Good, reliable, cheap transport.
G'day
I've had fun in my Mirage DE Coupe since September 2000. It makes me feel young when I drive it, at least for short distances. The styling is attractive and racy, the 1.5 litre engine is quick and efficient, especially round town. The model ... read more

Pros: price, fuel economy, easy to drive, relatively quiet, no recalls to date, features per dollar Cons: could use an extra 20 horsepower, harsh shifting automatic, depreciation The Bottom Line: The Mitsubishi Mirage is definitely worth a look especially if you are considering a small car and would like to save a few bucks.
Redesigned for 1997, Mirage stood as an entry-level model for Mitsubishi's lineup. It came in a variety of models to suit a variety of different people. The base DE model was meant to be basic transportation. The LS model added more features and a ... read more

Pros: reliable for someone who keeps thier car for awhile. Cons: bad tires, not roomy in back The Bottom Line: Excellent vehicle. Reliable and affordable for young and old; single or family.
I purchased my little Mirage brand new in 1997 and can proudly say that I still own my little baby. I can truly say that I've been very happy with it AND it's the only car that I've ever kept past three years and still plan on driving it for at least ... read more

Pros: Perfected Engine, Great MPG, Rattle-Free
and Reliable Cons: 1.5 Engine Needs Valve Adjustment Every 15K, Weak Resale First Few Yrs
The Bottom Line: Ask previous owner of 1.5 liter Mirages what engine maintenance they have had done. If they don't mention valve adjustments, don't buy it! An overlooked and underrated gem.
Bought 97 Mirage DE Coupe new, 1.5 liter motor MUCH more powerful than it was in 94 Mirage. 97 first yr of total redesign, MUCH stiffer frame. Relatively quiet for small car, much faster than base Mazda Protege with same size engine.

Pros: Inexpensive, good on gas Cons: Horrible ride... The Bottom Line: I recommend this vehicle to small people who do little driving.
Let me start this Epinions by stating that the Mitsubishi Mirage I own is not exactly the car I dreamed of purchasing. I am the former owner of a Nissan Altima that I absolutely adored (see my review for more info). At a little over 100,000 miles my ... read more
