Pros: Very quick, excellent engine, extremely reliable, smooth. Cons: Stock suspension is comparble to a minivan, 4speed automatic could be better. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an awesome used sedan for under $10000, this is the car for you.
I purchased my 1997 Nissan Maxima SE when it had 70000 miles. This was about a year and a half ago. As of January 12th 2004, It now has 99900 miles, and I figured what better way to get back into writing Epinions than to write a review on my car ...

Pros: SE styling, luxurious roomy interior, agile handling, smooth, powerful VQ30 engine, overall quality Cons: Body lean/roll, soft paint, brakes squeak. The Bottom Line: Recommended to anyone who's looking for a luxurious, fun, safe, and reliable sports sedan. Import Car of the Year in 1995 with one of Ward's Ten Best Engines. Engineering excellence.
As we're nearing the end of 2009, this is a little late to be reviewing a 1997 model. However, I just wanted to give a fresh opinion about this awesome car for anyone who may be looking for one- whether it is for 90s nostalgia, for a teen, because it's ...

I purchased my Maxima in December 1999. It was a used model just off lease, and had only 29,000 miles on it. Now that it has over 104,000 miles on it, I can say that this car has been an exceptional performer. It exceeds expectations in almost all ...

Pros: Reliable, stylish, plenty of options, and good performance Cons: Relatively expensive The Bottom Line: I chose the right car. It's the perfect balance of size, speed, reliability, and good looks. At 84k I still get compliments.
This review is for a 5spd SE model with all available options. I bought the car two years ago with 46k miles, it now has 94k miles.
Since high school I had driven an 86 Honda Accord - it was an economical car, but at about 150k it started...

Pros: Strong engine with great acceleration, quiet ride, solid, responsive handling, nice interior layout and roomy Cons: Some interior noises, mechanical problems The Bottom Line: Its a fun car to drive, and a great value relative to Hondas and Accords, but if buying used, be sure to have it checked out by a quality mechanic.
Unfortunately, I’ve experienced a few problems since buying my used, high mileage Nissan Maxima which I will describe below. After much time spent researching prospective cars to buy, I finally settled on the Maxima as the best combination of sporty...

Pros: Cost, Quality, Availability of after market parts Cons: Boring styling, FWD handling The Bottom Line: Worth the money. The abundance of aftermarket parts make this my first choice.
The Maxima competes in a tough market segment. The other cars in its category are the Mitsubishi Galant (too under powered), Honda Accord (very reliable but bland handling), Toyota Camry ( great power, under stated) and the Mazda 626. Out of this lot the...

Pros: Available with manual or automatic, Bose stereo system, ergonomically correct, sleek design, shifts well, thoughtful planning in where buttons, knobs are placed Cons: Premium fuel required, cheap tires a no-no, trunk a tad small for people who take long trips
When we decided we needed a new car in 1997, we began to narrow down our list. DH wanted a pick-up truck with a full-size extended cab. I wanted a MAXIMA. Well, so did he, but we'd just decided to sell our Ford Bronco II, so he was stuck in a truck...
