Pros: great comfort, 31 mpg (high test), everything works. pleasure to drive.
Cons: Nothing to speak of.
The Bottom Line: Great car, no issues, would reccomend this car to anyone.

I bought this car in 2008 with 120,000 miles on it. It was a one owner car that was well taken care of. This was my first SAAB so i was a little weary with some of the reviews that I had read, but this has proved to be one of the best cars I have ... read more

First Car & Loving It

by
Mar 14, 2010 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sporty Performance, Attractive Design Inside & Out (Slow Aging), Functional & Roomy Interior
Cons: No Traction Control with my 5-Speed Manual, Needs a Stiffer Suspension
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking for something that is multi-functional, sporty, roomy, unique, and luxurious. Plan on keeping this until it stops running for good.

I bought my Midnight Blue 1997 Saab 900SE Turbo Coupe almost three years ago now on June 2nd, 2007 with only 40,000 miles on the odometer. It now is approaching 68,000 miles. This is my first car and I'm very happy with my choice. In my car search, I was ... read more

Pros: Turbo, Trip and fuel computer, turning capability
Cons: EVERYTHING, except mentioned above
The Bottom Line: The cars suspension absolutely sucks. You feel every bump really bad.

This car has quite honestly been nothing but a living nightmare. I have owned it for 10 years now, and since the day I bought the damn thing, it's drove me crazy. The exterior of the car has stayed in good condition, except for the roof (it's a ... read more

Not Unlike a Beautiful Woman

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: comfy, smooth, excellent power, good in winter, tons of room, sexy look
Cons: high maintenance, expensive repairs&parts, hard to find repair shop, features can be a hassle
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this car to anyone who could afford the maintenance for it. It handles well, it dominated in Upstate NY winter and it has excellent gas mileage.

In 2004 I was in a car accident. My car was totaled so I went into the market for a vehicle. I found a 1997 SAAB 900S (four door w/hatchback, automatic) at a Chevy dealer in Vestal, NY. They told me it had been traded in by a man who was supposedly a ... read more

Pros: Stereo system sound.
Cons: Everything else.
The Bottom Line: Stay away from that junk .

If you have a friend or relative who owns a SAAB, never land him any money :) He/she has serious laps of judgment on how to spend his/her own. Why should you take the same risk? Well if you ask most SAAB owners if their cars were reliable they would ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Wonderful handling, performance, functionality
Cons: Excuse me???
The Bottom Line: The 1997 900 Turbo is entertaining, sporty, relaxed, and just plain FUN.

Yes, this is my second Saab 900. I started out with a 1994 five door 900S and moved up to a 1997 three door 900SET Coupe. Obviously I purchased a second Saab for more than the unique styling. The Saab 900SE Turbo is both a performance ... read more

Suddenly I found myself sitting in the middle of a busy intersection in a car that was lifeless. At least for the moment. The car just cut off, quit... was dead! And in another instant it was taken over by some imperceptible being. The horn began ... read more

Hi, and thanks for choosing to read my review. I own a 1997 Saab 900 S, 3 door coupe, manual (no turbo). I purchased this car used from a dealer (Shaw Saab, in Hingham, MA). It had about 48,000 miles, but it was still ... read more

I purchased a SAAB 900s hatchback in 1997. After the 2nd month the vehicle made a "groaning" noise from the engine. The SAAB dealers were helpful with the service, however unable to diagnose or fix the problem. The vehicle was in for service ... read more

Pros: handling, style, comfort, safety, acceleration
Cons: there is nothing I don't like about this car

The most solid, comfortable and sporty car I have ever owned. Mine is currently at the dealer for its 35k checkup and I miss it very much. (I have to drive a clumsy '88 Pathfinder until I get it back.) I bought it for the style and the safety, but I ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No
Pros: turbo engine, handling, cargo capacity in the back
Cons: Poor overall quality: minor annoying defects and major reliability limitation
I really I really liked the SAAB 900 design and engine, and after a test drive I was sold. I purchased my 900 SE from the SAAB dealer in Walnut Creek California, used, with 40K miles on it. At 48K miles I was stalled on the highway due to a burn clutch. ... read more
