Mar 13, 2011 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great fuel economy, good reliability
Cons: Has issues after having been totalled. Twice.
The Bottom Line: Fuel efficient every-day driver. Reliable as long as you take care of it (and don't wreck it like me). Not for large people.

I listed both the positive and the negative in the title: it's great and it's little.Bottom line: It's fuel efficient, reliable, but not great for large families or large people. Before I go any further, I need you to know what this car ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: fantastic reliability and excellent gas mileage. would not hesitate to drive to Alaska and back.
Cons: The '98-'02 generation is short on big person driver comfort.
The Bottom Line: The Corolla is the best used-car buy of any car because of its reliability.

Our family has owned 5 Corollas since l998. All have been rugged and reliable. My daughter drove a '94 Corolla for 7 years before selling it and buying an '04 Acura. She never did any maintenance on it except when I remembered to take it for an oil ... read more

Pros: - Good city car - Ample trunk space - Backseat fit two adults comfortably
Cons: - Acceleration sucks - hill climbs in winter conditions - Fogs up easily - Noisy
The Bottom Line: Great, reliable car for someone looking for good value!

This car was made for people who don't mind a less-than-flashy ride, but who want a car that will put in the miles without a hitch! I got mine about two years ago after I totaled my previous car. I was still in school, and money was not exactly flowing ... read more

Cons: No rear window defroster. Hard to install CD players.
The Bottom Line: Traveling by Toyota has been trouble free for me!

I know it's 2004 and my no frills, dark blue Toyota Corolla is now seven years old, but I've gotta share my opinion with my fellow Epinionators... this has been one great little car to own! I bought this car used back in 1998, when it had a mere 15,000 ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Fuel Efficient, comfortable and reliable
Cons: Extremely lazy engine, no passing power
The Bottom Line: i would recommend this car to anyone who does not care about performance, and only cares about a reliable user freindly car that anyone can drive

I own a 1997 Toyota corolla DX, with the more powerful 7A-FE 1.6 liter engine. The car is a great value for someone looking for some decent transportation. the car won't turn heads or win any trophies for style, but it is comfortable, sips gas, and is ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Of course, reliable, good ride for a compact.
Cons: Toyota Dealers, price or seldom needed repairs
The Bottom Line: If you plan on using it for highway driving, either get the 5 speed or 4 speed Auto and the 1.8 Liter model.

I purchased a used 1997 Corolla CE ( it seems Toyota only offered 2 models in 1997, this one and the DX, which comes standard with the larger 1.8 liter engine ) because I was replacing a leased Maxima. I was actually looking for a Honda Civic, but they ... read more

I bought this car because we desperately needed a new car that wouldn't break the bank. The Toyota Corolla was it. We bought it new in 1997. It was the basic basic basic no-frills model. Power-nothing and no radio system. It sounds sad but it's all we ... read more

The Bottom Line: Reliable and economical, but not fancy.

The Bottom Line: This has been the most reliable of 8 cars I've owned. This car will probably last until the outer shell rusts away.

I bought this car when it was 6 mos old with 7K miles. I've had it for 3 years now and it has 72K miles on it. In the 3 years I've owned it the only thing that has gone wrong is one tiny light behind the dashboard fuel gauge area has gone out. ... read more
