Pros: Great quality with a great ride. Handles so many different situations very well. Cons: Highway passing power, tight legroom for adults in back. The Bottom Line: This isnt an Echo, nor is it a Tundra. It's a specialized vehicle that fits a lot of different niches in a quality package. You might fall in love.
Owned this car since January 97 and haven't regretted it one bit! I presently have 128000 Kilometers on it. Exterior parts/finish: The paint of my 4dr RAV is sequoia green and has held up very well for 7 years of ownership. The odd nick or ding ...

Pros: High Resale Value, Good Looks, Handling Cons: Weak engine, poor gas mileage, no armrests The Bottom Line: Though a bit overpriced and underpowered, the RAV is a nice overall package perfect for small families and young drivers.
Two weeks ago, my roommate replaced her ailing 1995 Mazda 626 with a '97 Toyota Rav-4. After more than 1,000 miles, I can say that, overall, I am impressed by Toyota's freshman foray into the small sports-ute market.

Pros: Fun to drive, good handling, decent amount of cargo space Cons: not much pickup, failed rollover test The Bottom Line: Worth your time to give it a try.
When looking for a mini-SUV, this was one of my top choices. I test drove a few, and they were fun to drive, have good maintenance records, and an adequate amount of cargo space for their class. They also get good gas mileage for an SUV, but they don't...

Pros: Size, full time 4-wheel drive, cargo area, safety features Cons: Not a high-powered vehicle
I was looking for an SUV, and after having rented Jeep Cherokees, I was sure I wanted one a bit smaller, since I am short and I really didn't need the space of the larger SUV. At the Toyota dealership, the RAV4 was the first one I looked at, and fell in...

Pros: Great performance in bad conditions Cons: cramped in the back
It seems that many people buy SUV's for use primarily under normal highway conditions, but this is not why I bought my RAV4.
I got this RAV4 originally as a lease when my 1990 Subaru Loyale finally died, after an expensive few years. I was...

Pros: small size yet roomy, very comfy Cons: not much space in the back seat for passengers
The fall of September 2000, was advancing fast on me, and I knew that my little 1991 Mercury Tracer would never be able to handle a return trip to Florida.
