Pros: Great dealers in our area, affordable Cons: Drink holder in bad location
* Note - While some women may know a lot about the interior working of cars, I am not one of those women. I know what features I am looking for, and it is these features that I will touch upon during my review*
I have a 97 white VW...

"Oh my God, this car is sooooo you."

Pros: Suits my needs, powerful, safe, fun Cons: Compact, front cupholders, backseat space The Bottom Line: Pretty solid car, reliable and suitable for teens and adults-nothing luxurious, but a high end ride for price
*This may help or hurt my review, but Id first like to point out that Im YOUNG MAN writing about a typical feminine automobile. Its definitely rough, but its what Ive got to work with, and I really enjoy it. Since the beginning of my ...

Pros: Roomy, Great mileage, dependable, nice looking. Cons: Still a smaller car, parts higher than American cars. The Bottom Line: I would definitely take one for a drive if I were looking at cars in this class.
I own several German made cars, and with gas hitting 2.25 per gallon, decided I needed something I could get better mileage in, and keep the daily miles off my other cars. I have owned a couple of Toyotas, a Mitsubishi, and a Subaru in the past 20 ...

Pros: Great Car to Drive Cons: Always concerned it will break down The Bottom Line: Fun car to drive, very costly to maintain because of all of the repairs.
I bought a my white Jetta Trek in 1997. It has automatic transmission, and from the moment I drove it off the lot it seemed to have trouble shifting and tended to rev a lot. I have brought it to the dealer four times for this same problem and each time...

Pros: Great "drivers'" car. Cons: More expensive, less equipped than similar cars. The Bottom Line: Definitely a great car. My next vehicle will definitely be a Volkswagen, although this time I may go even more sporty and splurge on a new GTI.
I am very happy to give the VW Jetta a positive review. My black 1997 Jetta GT is my pride and joy; I absolutely love the vehicle. It may not be the biggest or most feature-laden car available for the price (then and now), but it makes up for it with...

Pros: good gas mileage Cons: problems with car are costly
Ah this car is my absolute pride and joy, since this is my first car (I am 18), this has probably affected my opinion of it. However, I am not easily impressed, so this car has done a lot in my mind to impress me.
I had decided to buy...

I am leasing my 1997 Jetta GT because I had heard what a great car it was and decided to lease because we didn't have alot of money to put down on a car. My car does not have the power package, but I do have a sunroof and a cassette deck which was fine...

Pros: sporty, fun to drive Cons: no power, poor service
In January of '98 I purchased a '97 model Jetta GL from East Coast Automotive in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. By January of the following year, I began hearing strange noises from the front end. Over the next six months I brought the car back at least four...

Pros: Huge trunk, FAST, roomy, reliable & stylish Cons: Bad cupholders, side moldings fall off (nothing that double-sided heavy duty tape can't fix) The Bottom Line: Great, reliable car with room for friends & cargo. Easy to park! Beautiful car!
What can I say but that I love my '97 Jetta GLX VR6 w/5 speed tranny! It's fast, smooth, reliable, stylish..you name it. She keeps me warm when it's cold and cool when it's blistering hot (a thumbs up for the AC/Heating system). I bought the car ...

Pros: It's a Volkswagon. Cons: It's a Volkswagon.
While I agree that the Volkswagon Jetta is a good, reliable car....I do want to mention that you should buy an older model. We have owned two Jetta, the first was a 1990 and the second 1997...we had much better luck with the older car. There is nothing...

I absolutely love my car. I have owned it for exactly one year with very few complaints. My Jetta is a GLS with the 2.0 and a 5 spd. manual. It is a joy to drive, and i love to let other people drive it just so they will feel the same joy i do. ...

Pros: Nimble and delicate handling, great HP/Torque band, looks, fun to drive, everything Cons: NOT for someone who: needs frou-frou things (cup holders), or has unrealistic expectations about automobiles. The Bottom Line: If you want a car that is a little out of the ordinary, want German engineering at an affordable price, and truly enjoy driving, this is the car for you.
This is a review for anyone on the fence and slightly discouraged by negative reviews they see about Volkswagen. I read them before buying my 97 Jetta GLX, had a minor hesitation, but took the plunge and I have never been happier. I haven't had my ...

Pros: Style, Size Cons: Few maintenance
I had been wanting a VW Jetta for years, ever since I saw the new body style in 1994. I had some specific criteria as to what I wanted to have on my car. I bided my time and ran my trusty, rusty, Toyota Celica into the ground. It was then time for me...

Pros: It looked nice and got good mileage Cons: the problems
My Jetta caused me nothing but problems. I entered into a lease for a few years while I was still in school for a Jetta Trek. I didn't care about the bike that came with it and just gave that away, I thought the car looked nice. My Whole family has VW's...
