Pros: fuel economy, comfort(for 2), reliability, cheap repairs, low starting price Cons: cramped interior(for 3/4), rust is common, no power, base model has no standard features The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anybody interested in a vehicle. Reliability and fuel economy alone make it a good car. Assuming it has been maintained
I have been driving my 1998 chevy cavalier with the 2.2 4 cylinder engine and the 5 speed manual transmision for quite some time now. I hve more than 224,000 miles on mine as is and it is still a very roadworthy, nice looking car. The space is somewhat ... read more

Pros: Cute, quick, reliable, good on gas, FUN. Cons: Really too lightweight for the power; handles noticably better with added weight in the trunk. The Bottom Line: Provides little luxury, but fun. A great car for someone starting out, or someone just looking for the best bang for their buck.
My '98 Cavalier entered my life when the gas-guzzling Ford I'd been coaxing along every day to work, through all weather and manner of mechanical issues, finally gave up the ghost and blew a head gasket. I hadn't had my eye on a Cavalier at all, ... read more

Pros: Room to grow, adorable, very quiet and comfortable. Cons: It's ten years old. The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this car because it has never failed me. I have compared it to other Cavaliers, and they have all had the same excellent outcome.
There is nothing worse than driving down the road and hearing the tires on the asphalt over the Celine Dion CD you're playing in your car. COOL FEATURES...ESPECIALLY FOR THE 90'S Luckily, the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier is pretty sound proof. With ... read more

Pros: Very reliable, not too expensive. Cons: Cosmetic design flaws. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this product. It was very dependable.
I bought my 1998 Chevy Cavalier used with about 26,000 miles on it. I paid about 6000 dollars for it. It was a no-frills car as it only had AM/FM Cassette, no power windows, no power locks, no power seats, and no cruise. It did have A/C, though. It ... read more

Pros: Cheap, seats comfortable, relatively quiet Cons: Electrical problems, suspension squeaks, bouncy ride The Bottom Line: An average car at an average price. Styling is moderately attractive, performance is subpar. If you have to drive one don't expect much.
There's nothing really exciting about the car, but its average transportation at an average price. The 2.2 feels less powerful than what the specs indicate, and the 3-speed automatic is disappointing. You can get cheaper subcompacts with 4-speed auto. ... read more

Pros: Nice, reliable car. Great first car for college student. Cons: No leg room in back seat. Small trunk. The Bottom Line: Nice car, good value, good gas mileage. Good for people looking for safe, reliable transportation but who don't have need to haul alot of passengers or baby carseats!
I have been driving a chevy cavalier since 1984. Two of them were in terrible accidents (once hit head on by a drunk driver, and another I was broadsided by a woman driving a Lincoln Continental)...I was not hurt in either of these accidents (of course I ... read more

This was bought used for me. being a '98 with only 66,000 miles on it seemed like a steal. My brother is mechanic and well, my husband knows a lot but it isn't his job. With anything that has happened to this car, my husband has easily fixed it. It was
