Jan 10, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Decent fuel mileage, safety features, storage space, easy modification if necessary.
Cons: Noisy cabin,
The Bottom Line: Better for college kids who you trust not to be stupid with a fast car, but want to give them a cheap car just to be sure.

At the age of 16 and a half years, I was handed down a 1998 dodge neon by my parents, who were getting new cars. At the time, I was ecstatic about having my own car. As time rolled on, I realized many pro's and con's about the car. First off, this ... read more

by
Nov 24, 2004 - Updated Feb 22, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: None
Cons: The entire car
The Bottom Line: I don't recomend thsi car, even used. Mine was horrible when new, and even when it was sold again, it still wasn't right.

I had a 1995 Toyota Trecel and it was too small. It was only a little 3-door sedan with little more than an am/fm tape deck and a/c. I decided I wanted something with more room, 4-doors and that was an automatic. I looked at a Kia Sephia, Mazda ... read more

Mechanical Defects Plague the '98 Model

by
May 16, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Good gas mileage, easy to drive and park, interior is well built.
Cons: Front suspension, head gaskets, instrument panel, radiator relay switch.
The Bottom Line: Beware. Dodge needs to take a look at the '98 models and do some serious recalls before I would recommend this car.

The interior is well built, but small. The front seats can accommodate only small people comfortably. The back seat is almost there but needs some modification to allow for more leg room. I am a small person and I love driving it. Everything is in reach ... read more

When I got my 1998 Dodge Neon in October of 2000, it was the first new car that I had ever gotten. For the price, the first thing I noticed was how sleek it looked. THe outside is very sharp looking and the inside is comfy. Other than a few minor ... read more
