Pros: Power Steering, Antilock brakes. Gas milage Cons: Cramped, Has problems holding speed on hills. The Bottom Line: If you want a truck to run a round in this one would do. Serious driving and traveling No Way
We searched for and decided on this truck after the little Isuzu we had conked out. We bought this truck with 13000 miles on it.
This is my husbands truck which I don't like to drive but have to sometimes. What is there about the truck that...

Pros: Best pickup for the money. Reliable, powerful engine and its just perfect! Cons: It likes to drink gas and it doesn't come with a CD player. The Bottom Line: Best small pickup available. Fun to drive, reliable and all around a great truck.
I just bought a 98' Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 V6 4X4 with a manual transmission. Not an easy find, at least in Virginia. There are plenty of 2WD Rangers out there, but I never really understood the point. If you are going to own a truck, it ...

Pros: Economical, easy to maintain Cons: Driving in wet weather, electronics display
I've owned Ford trucks for over twenty years. I consider Ford trucks to be reliable and durable over the long haul. I bought the Ford Ranger King Cab XLT for two reasons. The Ranger provides comfort in driving like a car, yet allows options of a truck....

Pros: Ride, handling, interior layout Cons: Engine, drive system
I bought this vehicle for its flexibility and sportiness. I liked the looks, interior, 4WD, and ratings on the Ford. The truck handles great and is comfortable to drive. I hate the weak engine, the 3.0L V6. From what I understand, the 4.0L V6 is better,...

Why do I dislike the Ford Ranger. I purchased a 1998 Ford Ranger Super Cab. Things were great until I reached 37800 miles (2800 miles over the warranty). My Master Air Flow Valve went, My Driver side seat started falling apart, My Door Ajar light stays...

Pros: Good gas mileage and Good Towing abilities Cons: Cab just a little small
I bought this truck when my old one (a V.W.truck) had died. It turned out to be one of the best buys I ever made. It is a 98 Ranger reg. Cab. It has a 2.0 letter engine, 2 wheel drive. Has a towing ability of 6000 lbs. It gets about 20 miles to the...

Pros: A lot of power for a little truck Cons: Not very heavy
I Bought a 98 model Ford Ranger step side almost a year ago. This truck had just over 18,000 miles on it when I bought it and it now has over 36,000 miles. The Ford Ranger power and horsepower is pretty good for the money, with it's dual over head cam...

Pros: 4 door convenience Cons: 4cyl not for heavy haulers
I originally was looking at this vehicle because of price. I found the Ford Ranger to be an extreme value. I purchased the XLT Supercab with the 4DR option. I didn't know they had four doors at the time of purchase (8/98). I was sold when I saw the...

Pros: Looks, Handling, Great Interior Cons: Fuel Mileage The Bottom Line: Built Ford Tough!
I bought my Ranger used with 64k miles, I wasn't intending to buy such a new truck, as I was needing it for work. I found it for a good price, and I do like the body style alot better than the '93-'97 Rangers.
The truck has the poor little 3.0...

I just turned over 30,000 miles on my 1998 Ford Ranger, four-door XLT, 4x4. This is my third over the past fourteen years. This is the first that ever had a glitch.
The ‘door ajar’ light stays light and occasionally the dome light stays on by...

Not with mine! I have a 1998 Ford Ranger and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. In fact, I've been so pleased with it that I would definitely buy another one.
