Pros: 235hp, Strong V8 hill climbing power, Smooth automatic transmission Cons: Homely exterior, Hefty curb weight, Poor EPA, High price! The Bottom Line: Not Recommended.
SHO is supposed to stand for 'super high output,' I personally wouldn't call 235 HP from a 3.4 liter DOHC V8 "super high output," but I guess Ford thinks/thought it was worthy of the name. Its 235 horsepower V8 and good road manners means that...

Pros: Problem-free smooth ride Cons: Minor defects which do not affect the performance of the car. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car since it is very safe, ample seating room, and a quiet ride.
I have been a passenger many times in my friend's 1998 Taurus, and even driven the car a couple of times. This car has four doors, and all the models look the same from 96-99 except for the positioning of the ford logo on the grill. The view seems to...

Pros: comfortable, good leg room Cons: transmission problems, other mechanical problems, car seat and visibility difficulties The Bottom Line: I do not recommend this car. I have never had more problems, both mechanical and structural, with any other vehicle.
I purchased my 1998 Ford Taurus in the spring of 2004. Sadly, this is the newest car I'd had up to that point, and with 90,000 miles on it it also had the lowest mileage of all of them. My husband came home one day telling me he'd found some cars he ...

Pros: Factory stereo and good sound, aerodynamics inside and out. Cons: Experienced some electrical problems. The Bottom Line: Despite minor problems this car has been very reliable, I would recommend it as an excellent family car.
Looking at my new profile picture you will notice my car in the background. I have been happily driving my 1998 Ford Taurus since August of 1999. I didn't get my first choice of colour buying it second hand, but the car is solid and has never given me...

Pros: Looks, stereo, comfort, handling, price, gas mileage Cons: NOTHING The Bottom Line: Great vehicle, for the price, options, comfort, handling and gas mileage, you cant go wrong.
My 1995 Lincoln continental died on me a week before moving into college! But I couldn't get too mad, it had 260,000 miles on it. Of course I wanted to get another one. But since starting college, I didn't have that much to spend. If i wanted to get ...

Pros: Still modern styling
Rattle free
Smooth ride
Reasonably priced Cons: Base engine lacks refinement delivers reliability
Inadequate cup holders
Lower back support The Bottom Line: Solidly built and well-styled four door sedan, now very affordable as a used car. Offers high value with a modern sense of style.
We purchased a used 1998 Taurus in July of 2004. The car had only 51,000 miles (below average) and cosmetically was in new condition with an excellent maintenance record of periodic maintenance with no accidents or major mechanical failures. We purchased ...

Pros: GOOD DEAL FOR THE PRICE Cons: DOESN'T GET THE CHICKS
The Ford Taurus. Not exactly the most reliable car. At least from my experiences with the car, it has been less than desirable. Do not get me wrong, the car was not bad at all for about the first seventy five thousand miles… but then it went to hell....

Pros: Very roomy Cons: Wish there were more slots for tapes
I bought a Ford Taurus after my station wagon finally broke down. I was expecting much less room for hauling items, but found that the trunk for the Taurus was very roomy! I could easily fit a playpen, double stroller and other various bags and baby...

Pros: never a complaint Cons: chicks rarely dig the guy in the taurus
OK, I am a snob.
I have a Mercedes G-Wagon, and have owned everything from BMW's to Range Rovers, Saabs to Austin Healy's.
My wife gets a new Taurus as a fleet car every year or so. We run up about 55k on them and get a new one. Our...

Pros: Stability and Durability. Cons: none that we have found yet
My husband comes from a Ford family. The only make of vehicle that they will buy is Ford. The majority of the cars we have owned are also Fords. Ford stands for stability and durability.
The Ford Taurus is a wonderful family car with...

Pros: Super Reliable, Spacious and Fuel Efficient Cons: Not a speed demon The Bottom Line: This is a wonderful car that will be trouble free and give you years of service for a low price. This is what a car should be.
This model is another great example of how great American cars can be. It has an attracive exterior with a quality solid interior. My first initial perception of the car was the it was bland solid family transportation. I bought this car at a used car ...

Preface:
In August 1998, I was driving my one month old Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 Pace Car (please read my review on that!) when some bozo in a Honda Accord pulled out in front of me. I was NOT happy. Nobody was hurt seriously. I broke...

Pros: Reliable, roomy and easy to drive. Cons: None that i have found.
I have a 1998 Taurus and have been very happy. I looked for months for a car that i liked and that was affordable. I finally narrowed my decision to either a Ford Contour or the Taurus.
I decided on the Taurus for many reasons. One big reason...

Pros: Safety and reliability Cons: gas mileage and the jack
To be honest, when I first looked at the car I didn't like it that much, and there are still somethings I don't like about this car. But there are enough good things in this model that make up for the bad. In this opinion I hope to specifically point...

Pros: Smoothe ride. Comfort. Large trunk space. Cons: Less than good gas mileage. Not a large family vehicle.
My husband and I purchased our Ford Taurus because our previous car was too small to accommodate the third child we were expecting. My husband refused to buy a mini van so we compromised on a larger family vehicle.
There are many...
