Pros: Power, relatively low maintenance, comfortable, good AC, front air bags, ABS, intuitive controls Cons: gas mileage, handling/steering, one rear sliding door, small storage area, no LATCH The Bottom Line: It may be a mommy mobile, but this baby's got power; maybe that's where all the gasoline is going.
I swore Id never drive a minivan or SUV, but then my daughter came along and trying to cram an infant car seat in the back of a 2-door Honda Accord was excruciating and required contorting that my almost-30-year-old body couldnt handle. It got ...

Pros: Spacious, smooth riding, pleasing appearance Cons: Not even one. The Bottom Line: If you and your family are in the market for a van, I strongly encourage you to take a look at and test drive a Ford Windstar.
The “Mommy Mobile” is what I call my 1998 Ford Windstar LX van. My husband and I have three young children and with a family of five a van is a necessity.
To be completely honest, my husband and I had our hearts set on the Ford Explorer. We...

Pros: Comfortable, drives like a car, good on gas Cons: quirky lock system, noisy, SMALL trunk area The Bottom Line: Safety rating is good and that is important when you have a family riding in it.
We had a 1992 Ford Aerostar and really liked it. But when the transmission started to go we decided to shop for a "new to us" van. We didn't know what we would end up with since we were shopping used. When we found the Windstar we ended up buying, ...

I am the proud owner of a 1998 Ford Windstar mini-van. When my wife and I were researching the right vehicle to accommodate our growing family of Five, the Ford Windstar was the only mini-van that had everything we were looking for.

Pros: Great family size car! Cons: None so far
In all my life, I never saw me as the Van driving type. First of all, I thought it's way to big for me to drive, I would have a very hard time manuvering it. I also thought I was way to cool for a mini van!
Well, times are changing! I am a...

Pros: Large family mover, very roomy, bright red (mine) Cons: Seats are heavy, only lap belt in 3rd row middle seat, hard to fit in Hawaii parking garages ;o)
When we first married, my husband and I thought there wasn't any need for one of those staid "family" vehicles, the 90s equivalent of the station wagon. It didn't take long (two kids) to realize what the attraction is all about.
The...

I own a 98 Windstar that was purchased after we learned that we were expecting our second child. I spent hours reading consumer magazines and researching full size cars and mini vans. I pretty much knew that a mini van would be more up my alley so a...

Pros: Feels Solid, Cons: Undependable! The Bottom Line: If you are buying this as a used car - purchase an extended warranty
This van was in the shop 7 times in the first 6 months that I owned it.
The engine would stall and then it would not restart. This happened once to me on the highway doing 120 kph (70 mph). Very very scary!
First the dealer told me...

Pros: Easy handling, very comfortable, reliable, and lots of space. Cons: None so far.
As our family expanded we found it hard to fit everything we needed in to our 1998 Honda Accord and we definately couldn't fit our stuff into our other car which was a 1986 Honda Prelude. As much as we loved our cars it was time to move to a family van....

I've owned my 1998 Windstar GL for just over two years now. My previous vehicle was a 1991 Dodge Caravan. In comparison, The Windstar has much more comfortable seats, and a better ride. It also feels much more stable than my old Caravan. The Windstar...
