Pros: Comfy, reliable, Nice exterior, mechanical problems are very rare, drives like a dream!
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a great sedan that is an excellent value for your money and drives like an absolute dream, the 98 Accord is the way to go!

I have been driving a 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan for about a year now, and I must say, I have been blown away. It drives and handles like an absolute dream, and has plenty of power to boot. I have the 4-Cylinder model, and even though the V6 is surely ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfy, well-made, dependable
Cons: Not as sporty as Honda likes to think
The Bottom Line: Looking for a quality used car? Check out the Generation 6 Accord; though the coupe is not a good choice for families

When you leave your car at a dealership for an extended period and get handed the keys to a loaner, you always hope for the best: when Amber said I'd be driving a loaner from my local Honda dealer, I - of course - inquired about the availability of a ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth ride, real sports car handling, good seats, cost of operation! interior space
Cons: Clutch feels funny, tire noise, hard to keep clean, slow heater, headroom
The Bottom Line: Although Honda has slipped a bit lately, the Accord offers one of the lowest cost of operation, while providing one the highest levels of driving enjoyment.

Some vehicles look much better than the experience of ownership would validate. I own an 1998 Accord Coupe,(in fact, it is the exact vehicle pictured on this site) and though it is a head turner, the car is actually a better vehicle than it looks. ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Good performance, handling, value for the money (LX-V6), great interior ergonomics, resale value.
Cons: Tight rear seat, cheap wheel covers, no break-away mirrors, LX-V6 lacks 5-speed,dismal reliability.
The Bottom Line: A good used car value, provided you avoid the early production quality control problems. If you buy it from a Honda dealership get it certified w/the extended warranty.

The Good After buying used 3 Accords, a Prelude and an Integra in the past, buying a new '98 Accord Coupe LX V-6 was an easy choice. The car is great on the highway - it has good acceleration, a smooth ride, good handling and a very strong engine, ...

Pros: everything

The Bottom Line: the best all around car i have ever owned by a wide margin

I bought this car with 60 k + miles. drove it 20K before i traded up. spent 110.00 on a muffler, which besides gas and oil changes was the only expense. This vehicle was 100% reliable and rode good for a small car, it came with cooper tires 195/65/14...

This wasn't actually my car, it was my parents'. However, I did spend a lot of time in it and I loved it. I got a chance to drive it a few times and it was a dream.

We bought the 1998 Honda Accord EX Coupe in the V6 automatic transmission,...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Solidly built, great reliability and good mpg.
Cons: Cabin could be quieter.
The Bottom Line: Can't go wrong if you're ok with ride and noise level.

Excellent car. I was not pleased with level of cabin noise, but keep in mind I came in from an Infiniti Q45 luxury sedan.

For the car that we owned, initial acceleration seemed to "hesitate," but we were told by dealer that was normal for...

The new V6 has serious problems

by nutmegs
May 28 '02

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Styling, and overall best looking coupe in it's class
Cons: Expensive problems (Moonroof gets stuck, transmission breaks)
The Bottom Line: The 1998 V6 engine was brand new. After 3years transmission problems are among many problems that have surfaced. Don't play russian roulette. Buy a newer model.

When Honda came out with the new 200hp engine in 1998 all Honda lovers cheered. Now 4 years later when they have been put to the test there is now evident, a serious problem with the transmissions. I have gone to other web-sites and heard the same...

Pros: Rock solid, highly reliable, smartly designed sedan. Holds value.
Cons: Cramped driver's seat. Not very distinctive. Expensive used car.
The Bottom Line: Well engineered car.

Cons: Awful seats, confused auto transmission
The Bottom Line: Its recommended for folks that don't have a bad lower back and don't drive aggressively.

by swordlily
Oct 19 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: powerful, turns on a dime, looks good
Cons: not very comfortable to drive, small, cheap parking break
The Bottom Line: Ultimately, I do not recommend this car at all. It seems that what is important was overlooked in the making of this vehicle.

Just to tell a little story. I drive a 1993 Toyota camry. It was an option for me this past year to sell my camry and get this 1998 Accord. I stuck with my camry. Even with all the miles and everything.

Basically the only good things I see...
