Pros: Razor sharp response for steering and throttle, flawless ABS and AWD performance, amazing traction and control, perfect ergonomics and cockpit layout. Cons: Cup holder is in an inconvenient location that blocks access to stereo and drips condensation directly into stickshift, boxer engine is loud and sounds like a Volkswagon Rabbit Diesel, "rubber band" feeling while trying to maintain low speeds.
Note: For complete information about this car, see http://www.trunkmonkey.com/ for a driving log, complete mileage logs and aftermarket modifications.
First off, let me start by saying that this is the best car I've ever owned. And that says...

Pros: great steering, powerful a/c, reliable Cons: not enough backseat room, squeaky brakes at times The Bottom Line: Reliable, Recommendable, and Economical. Especially great for a couple to own or someone who likes the outdoors!
I have owned a series of cars in my life so far- and I am still in college. The first car was a Ford Tempo, then a Chevy Cavalier. They were older cars but they worked just fine for me, problems and all. Eventually I had to sell both of them. Then I...

I've owned my 1998 Impreza Outback for almost three years now and overall, it's been a great car with few problems.
The size is right...basically a compact car with enough room for most anything you want to haul around. My mountain bike fits...

Pros: All wheel drive, 4 speed automatic, good engine, handles well Cons: Noisy brakes; Noisy interior, Poor assembly, cheap radio, no fold down rear seat, Poor dealer/manufacturer response to service problems
I bought my Impreza L for a number of reasons - It is equipped with 4 wheel drive; It came with a very powerful engine for the size/weight(2.2 liter)and the road handling is very good. ;All the popular accessories are standard; and it was well priced....

Pros: No matter what the conditions, you feel glued to the road Cons: A few minor design flaws
I purchased a Subaru Impreza (like the one pictured) in September 1998 and I love it. The handling is tight and sharp, better than most cars I've driven. I have yet to have any problems with this car, all I have done is change the oil for the past...

Pros: Superb handling, acceleration, traction with even mediocre tires(not top of the line) Cons: When purchased from the dealer, the 30/60/100 mile check-ups are overpriced.
If you are impressed by what the Subaru Legacy Outback has to offer, but finding that is is a bit too much car for you, the Impreza Outback Sport is a fun to drive alternative. This car offers superb handling, quick acceleration, and all wheel drive, all...

Pros: Versatility, gas mileage, cargo space, reliability, All wheel drive, anti-lock brakes Cons: Cramped leg room (only in the back)
My 15 years of driving experience has put me behind the wheel of 6 different cars. Of the six, 4 were subaru's. I know their reliability and track record and when the time came to purchase my most recent new car I didn't hesitate to choose a subaru....

Pros: It was car of the year during 1998. The 4wd, racey feeling Cons: none...there are none if the car is maintained. The Bottom Line: Good stuff... a great ride for the wanna-be or already-am racers. Go get em tigers.
Think of it this way: it was 1998 Car of the Year, 1998 and 1999 Rally Winner and you can possibly go faster than almost any car on the road when they are on pavement and you're on dirt. This car is maybe the best car I've ever seen. It qualifies as a...

Pros: Great quality, reliability, and traction Cons: The AWD can leave the little flat-4 struggling for power
I'm writing from experience on this one. Coming from New England, where up until this year, snow falls prevalantly in the winter, the Suburu is the human answer to Mother Nature's challengers. The Suburu Impreza is aside from that a great all around...

Although a confirmed Subaru owner ( I now have four in the family "fleet"), I was surprised by the value and handling of our latest aquisition.
We bought this 1998 Impreza used with 20,000 miles in May of 2001 to replace a 1998 Saturn my...

We have owned our '98 Outback Sport since '99, put 172000 miles on it, and can't say enough good things about it. We live in central Vermont- I work at the Killington ski resort part-time in the winter and my wife drives my son 70 miles round trip to ...

Pros: quick, powerful, multi-purpose vehicle. Cons: slightly stiff transmission The Bottom Line: If you want a multipurpose vehicle, that performs and handles quick and responsive, this is it.
I purchased my 98 Impreza hatch in January 2002, so I've had it for about 2 months now. In that time, I've travelled over 8,000kms in it. I've gone on weekends away, moved homes with it (twice in fact) and used it around town for grocery shopping, people...
