Excellent vehicle

by
Dec 30, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: incredibly reliable
handles nice
lots of power
good on gas
great in winter conditions
lost of space
Cons: it is a van
The Bottom Line: Great if you have to buy a used van and want something reliable.  I bought mine with just under 20,000 and am now at 300,000 - no trouble!

I hate vans in general so I stupidly did not maintain this vehicle all that well. I change the oil every 20,000 or so - which is apparently a very big no no with these engines because of sludge build up.   I changed the timing belt at ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Seats, gas mileage, radio, styling, good front ac
Cons: More space, no dual ac
The Bottom Line: I liked our van and would recomennded it to any one, not expecting perfection or max space, as they wouldn;t like it

Ok, we wherent ready to get rid of our basic villager, but it was 6 years old (one was the first ever sold) and had 135K miles. So it was time to swap. We settled on the sienna ce with tinted glass, cass/cd, single sliding door and cruise, and the all ... read more

Love my Sienna, despite some problems.

by
May 4, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Runs great, seat positioning is very good.
Cons: Had mechanical problems with ours.
The Bottom Line: Despite the problems with mechanical parts on the vehicle, it's an excellent drive and very versatile. I love it and would recommend it to others.

I love my Sienna. We bought this Van used with 56k miles on it in the year 2000 it was a top-of-the-line Sienna XLE. Currently in 2004 we have 115k on it and it still runs well. I like having the ability to remove separate seats here and there. We ... read more

Still Love My Toyotas

by
Oct 2, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Safety, Comfort, and Side Doors
Cons: Paint and Side Doors
The Bottom Line: If something were to happen to my '98, I would replace it with another Sienna-no doubt about it.

The Sienna is my fourth, but not final Toyota. After my beloved Camry was totalled, we knew we were going to replace it with another Toyota, but until we test-drove the Sienna, I never dreamed I'd join the mini-van set. The Sienna is built on a ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good power-train, nice handling, dependable, nice pick-up
Cons: Sliding door not opening, button broke, minor annoyances, uncomfortable on long rides
The Bottom Line: Adequate and dependable but somewhat annoying

I wanted a used Minivan and I chose the 1998 Toyota Sienna because of price and because Consumer Reports rated it their best minivan of 1998. That year was Toyota's first venture into minivans so there wasn't much of a history on it. Even so, I trust ... read more

Well 1998 was the first year of the Sienna and we (my wife and I) decided to buy it. Seemed like a nice car, needed the space for my kids, sports.....anyways.....the first year model was fine but the only problem we've had with it is the brakes. The ... read more

We love our Toyota Sienna minivan!

by
Jan 30, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: It's a minivan that drives like a sedan!
Cons: We would love for it to have more storage space.
The Bottom Line: We love our van! It's family friendly and works very well for us. It's completely reliable - what more could you ask for in a family vehicle?

We've had our van for 3.5 years now and have virtually no problems with it. One and a half years into the life of the van, we had to get a new transmission, courtesy of Toyota. Other than that, we've had no major problems. We've had a problem with the ... read more

Pros: family car, nice features
Cons: brakes, and doors sometimes have problems

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: solid fit and finish, quiet engine

Pros: The Sienna drives great.
Cons: Reliability is questionable.

We bought our 1998 Sienna in June of 1998. We put our trust in the Toyota name. The first problem we noticed was when you turned left, the steering wheel skipped a little bit. The dealer replaced the Power Steering Gear (6,351 miles). We also noticed ... read more
