Pros: Fast Roomy Good on Gas Superb Handling Cons: Expensive to repair No room for passengers The Bottom Line: For speed, comfort, and originality I would strongly recommend the Volkswagen golf to anyone.
I have a 1998 Volkswagen Golf that's now 14 years old and still going strong. I currently have 122,000 Miles on it and the only real problem I've run into so far is a slight issue starting which may be a worn out clutch. Despite the car's modest ... read more

Pros: Fun to drive, huge cargo space, compact easy to park, reliable. Cons: VW quit making them like this. New Golf (Rabbits) just ain't the same. The Bottom Line: If you love to drive, want easy parking and a huge interior for its exterior size, there is no competition.
This car is a blast to drive! Great sporty handling, good road feel, you really feel in touch with what you're doing. Also very quiet, friends always comment on that. Very small car on the outside with cavernous room inside, expecially when you fold ... read more

I bought my 1998 VW Golf new in 1999. I absolutely love the way it drives and looks;but it has really been nothing but grief.
First problem I noted was the squealing brakes, that was in the first week after I bought it. Took it to 3 ... read more

Pros: Adorable car; tons of cargo room for its size; great gas mileage Cons: Some minor design flaws; OEM tires are horrible; seats have no lumbar support The Bottom Line: This car is a great value and despite minor annoyances will serve you well.
I bought my Golf new in '98. Since then I have had only very minor problems with it. I drive mostly highway miles, making frequent 300-mile trips between two major cities (at an average speed of about 75 MPH), but I also do a fair amount of city ... read more

In the summer of 1999, my wife and I decided to replace our aging 91 Nissan Sentra with another small car (used) that I could use for commuting to work. The 98 Passat we own was to become the 'family' car that she totes the kid around in. On the 4th of ... read more

By mid 1998 I hadn`t a car, because I`ve sell a FIAT UNO 1.6 SCR 1993 on $7,800 USD and decide to not have a new car.
Luckily I won a chance to get immediatly a VW POLO CL and attend the VW Agency, with the VW Golf in mind.

I was recently in the market for a hatchback car, and researched the VW Golf and the Civic HB. I finally decided on the VW, which i am quite happy about. It's a cute car, but that isn't all there is to it.
