Pros: Handling, mileage, build quality, service, styling
Cons: No cruise control, rear seat tight
The Bottom Line: The Ultimate Driving Machine is a better buy second hand!

I've always driven domestic cars and was of the 'BMW drivers are snobs' ilk. But after test-driving a BMW 3-series, I was smitten by its tight, vault-like quality and its superb 6-cylinder engine. What I didn't expect was the stunning ... read more

Fine German Engineering

by
Jul 24, 2001 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Superb engineering and reliability--it's never been in the garage.
Cons: Stick might have more pick up than the automatic.
The Bottom Line: Go for it--if you value reliability and performance (and who doesn't?), it's worth it.

I don't know much about cars. I do know how to write a check to the mechanic, however, and was mightily tired of it. Unexpected expenditures thanks to my Chevrolets were painful to the bank account. Wanting a reliable car, and figuring that the lease ... read more

Pros: smooth, handles well, solid feel

The BMW 323i is a great car. The exterior is clean and sharp, uncluttered. The door handles are ergonomically designed and do not detract from the clean lines of the 323i. The trunk space is good, not great, and has hydraulic lift so nothing in the trunk ... read more
