Pros: Affordable though certainly not "cheap". Faster than a scaled chicken. Great looking car. Cons: Insurance companies rape you. Bad quality. Bad mileage. The Bottom Line: It's fast and fun, and that's exactly why you can't have it. Insurance companies will hunt
you down and the jalopy will get driven more by mechanics than by you.
The car is fast.
The car is in your price range.
The car looks great and stands out from the ordinary boring cars of today.
Unfortunately this car is sunk by insurance companies, gas prices, and probably the worst quality of any ... read more

Pros: FAST Cons: Everything else.
This is not a good car to buy. I have many reasons for this.
1) Cost. Ok, so it's less than real sports cars. So what? It's still a cheap american car that will have monstrous repair costs. They state $19k for a z28, but by the time you ... read more

I'll give the camaro one thing, it's fast, very fast. Unfortunately it handles like a pig, performs horribly in bad weather, possess terrible styling and a ridiculously unrefined interior.

Pros: Lots of "right now" power, suprisingly agile handling, room for the driver Cons: Horrible build quality, traction in rain, fairly common The Bottom Line: A decient car, great performer. If you can deal with the probelms( which i can't) this is the a good choice for you
In June of 2005 I sold my 1979 camaro and decided to find another sports car, i tried everything from a dodge srt-4 to and audi a-4. By accident I stumbled upon a 1999 SS Camaro in the want ad. I wnet down to check it out liked it and later bought it. ... read more

Pros: power, handling, Cons: cowl shake, interior fit & finish The Bottom Line: If you're shopping for a convertible that is less than 5 years old, and less than $10K, the Firebird and Mustang are the only other two you should consider.
After a long and meticulous search for a reasonably practical American convertible, I purchased this car with 41000 miles on it. My "wish list" had the Camaro/Firebird ranked dead even with the V6 Mustang, but this particular car came my way first, due ... read more

Pros: Fast, sporty Cons: doesn't match the competition
I have been able to drive a few sports cars in the camaro class. The camaro however doesn't stand out from the competition. The biggest thing that the camaro offers is a big engine, but you have to pay the price. Overall, this cars drives like you ... read more

Camaro: The muscle car of the 90's. What has happened to the Camaro, From 1990, they were great cars, fast, sleek, powerful. Even when the new model of 93 came out, they were still fast, sleek, and powerful, in fact, they could out power most cars on ... read more

Pros: American made. Affordable price. Stylish look. Cons: Too large. Not much roominess.
The Chevrolet Camaro is to large to compete with all the other sports cars in the $10,000 to $20,000 price range. Due to this fact General Motors is going to stop production of the camaro and its counterpart the Pontiac Firebird. You will more than ... read more

I bought my 1999 Camaro SS Convertible in January of 2003 for $15,900 with 49k on the clock. I've owned the car for over two years now and have put about 3,000 miles on it. Let me just say that this is not a good daily driver! As a second car, it's ... read more

Pros: Excellent performance for the price. Cons: Bad blindspot. Could use better seats. The Bottom Line: For someone looking for the ultimate in handling and speed, I recommend the Corvette. However for about half the price you can have the Camaro which is a great compromise.
My brother purchased his 1999 Z-28 about a month after I purchased my 92 Corvette. I have driven both cars and feel like I can make an unbiased comparison.
To put it quite simply, you cannot buy more performance for the price than with a ... read more
