Aug 21, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great interior storage and versatility, Good looks, Dependable
Cons: Gas mileage, but that is true of all full size trucks
The Bottom Line: I recommend this truck to anyone who asks.

I've had my '99 Dodge Ram Sport 2wd quad cab for 5 years now. It had about 50,000 miles when I bought it and it has 140,000 miles on it now. It's been a very reliable vehicle with very few problems. Since I've owned it I had a front wheel bearing go ... read more

by
Jun 5, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth ride, comfortable interior, extremely capable
Cons: Transmission/4WD problems, gas mileage, high step-in
The Bottom Line: It's a great truck, with loads of capability and a better ride than most 4WDs, but it is hard on gas!

In September 1999, my grandfather totaled his 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and needed a new one, so he entrusted me, his loyal sidekick/grandson, to choose a new ride. The requirements? It had to be a Dodge, and it had to be equipped with four-wheel ... read more

Pros: Strong pulling engine, Great looks, Ride height, Nice seats
Cons: Gas (its a truck),
The Bottom Line: Recommend to anyone

We are a dodge family, and we could finally afford to pick up a 99 quad cab with 42 thousand miles. The exterior is still one of the best parts of this truck even with being out of date. This truck turns heads still when washed and waxed. Sits up ... read more

Diesel powered Quad Cab Long Bed

by
Oct 22, 2005 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great mileage, good ride height, comfortable!
Cons: Rear anti-lock brake system seems too slow to return brake power during emergency stops.
The Bottom Line: I will definitely look at another Dodge Diesel before anything else. I've been in Fords and Chevys and the Dodge is more solid.

I LOVE this truck! I bought it to replace the 1972 Ford F100 I was driving (which is still running for someone else). It drives well and looks sharp. The mileage is great for a truck this size even when I'm loaded to the roof with lumber! I get ... read more

Pros: Reliability, ergonomics, excellent fuel mileage (with the Cummins diesel), beautiful design, low maintenance

The Bottom Line: Reliable, powerful, economical to run, comfortable, beautiful... need I say more?

Love at first sight... Seems a little unusual for a woman, but no other words could better describe the feeling I had for this truck since the minute I saw it. I have to admit, I HEARD it long before I saw it. And I must say, it does sound lovely ... read more

Looks Can Be Deceiving

by
Sep 10, 2001 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Looks tough. Straight axle provides great off road capabilities.
Cons: Low-end torque is lacking
The Bottom Line: The Dodge Ram is a good vehicle for those who need 4wd for ice but those who test limits modifications will be necessary.

The Dodge Ram 4x4 is great for those who prefer a stock vehicle with no modifications. But if you plan to change or alter basic specs then be warned. With larger tires and a lifted chassis, the acceleration will be greatly reduced. This is to be ... read more
