Pros: good comfort, nice appointments Cons: some cheesy plastic parts
First, I didn't buy this vehicle -- I rented it. If you ask me, anyone who's serious about buying a vehicle should rent it first. You get to drive it for a couple of days without some obnoxious salesperson hanging on your shoulder, and you also get to...

Pros: Sheer roominess/capacity, hoardes of options, solid body, helluva ride, quiet cabin Cons: Haven't anything to add to this list, at least not yet. The Bottom Line: paint problem (see update), despite this, it's fast, powerful, crammed with working options, okay on gas, great ride, excellent capacity, good leather seats & great styling.

I will be upfront with you from the beginning and tell you that I am not a Ford fan. But that has nothing to do with the opinion I am about to write. My family of 5 traveled to Hawaii for a vacation. We had reserved a mini van on the Big Island. Of...

Pros: nice looking interior and exterior, roomy, ample cup holders Cons: automatic doors, mechanical problems
I am a Mother of 3 small children who decided the time had come to purchase a minivan. After reading as many car magazines as I could get my hands on I narrowed the search to the Ford Windstar SEL, and the Honda Odyssey EX. Both of these models were...

Pros: Great crash-test ratings, nice handling, full of features Cons: Gas mileage isn't great, stereo sound could be improved
We have been driving our 1999 Windstar SEL for nine months now. We had previously owned a Dodge Grand Caravan ES, so I was anxious to compare the two.
The reason we chose the Windstar was for its excellent frontal crash test ratings. We...

Pros: Luxury feel, comfort, ergonomics, features and handling. Cons: Power doors, transmission and gas mileage The Bottom Line: The only time I would recommend having to drive this is only as a rental car. Owning this vehicle over time, expect expensive repairs to show up.
This is an update from a review I previously done almost two years ago. First my wife and I test drove several of the competitors at the time before we decided on the Ford Windstar SEL. Because I had a friend who was a Fleet Manager at one of the Ford ...

Pros: Stylish, Comfortable Ride, Easily Removed Seats Cons: Extras that aren't worth the money The Bottom Line: good mini van with extra creature comforts to make it feel like a luxury mini van (if such a thing exists)
Let it be said that we are a family of four, soon to be 5, and after living with a large-medium sized sedan for two years we felt a minivan was definitely in our future. I had but two FIRM criteria: Sliding passenger doors on both sides, and that the ...

Pros: This is a FANTASTIC vehicle, a pleasure to drive, and is flawless Cons: None The Bottom Line: If you want a roomy, stylish, reliable van that would easily travel around the globe, this is the perfect car
In 1993 we bought a brand new Mercury Villager, which I loved for over 122,000 miles. Toward the end of its life with me there were some small problems (the rear air stopped working, the half-shafts were worn out) but I always said I would gladly buy...

Pros: Comfortable, drives great, safe Cons: none that I've noticed
Late in the summer of 1999, my husband and daughter were in an accident that left our 1993 Chevrolet Lumina minivan totaled. We spent the next month searching for a replacement. When buying a new vehicle, my husband and I have different priorities. My...

Pros: spacious, comfortable, quiet, parkable in downtown Europe, real family limo Cons: 3.8 lts engine not available in Netherlands, no climate control, seats difficult to remove The Bottom Line: If you have a family with kids, this is your second home. In Europe its is also seen as a comfortable business van.
I live in the Netherlands Europe and bought a new Ford Windstar SEL, which comes (unfortunately) with a 3.0 ltr engine in the Netherlands only. We, a family of 6, like to go on holidays on long trips like driving to Spain or Southern France, occasionally...

We bought out Windstar in the summer of "99", have almost 17000 miles on it and have had no problems at all. We have a 3 yr old and 3 mo old so it does get a good deal of wear and tear.
Product:

I never thought I'd be driving a minivan. A mustang convertible has always been my dream car and a minivan is about as far away from a Mustang as you can get. Or, so you'd think!!! I am a huge fan of my 1999 Ford Windstar!!! This vehicle has some get...

Pros: Dual sliding remote controlled doors Cons: Noisy, poor gas mileage The Bottom Line: It's adequate, but if I could do it over, I would not have bought it. We have already replaced it.
We bought our 1999 Windstar SE in August 1999. We looked at the Windstar, the Honda Odyssey, the Nissan Quest, and the Dodge Caravan. We decided on the Windstar even though we would have preferred the Odyssey. We didn't want to wait 3 months or pay ...

Pros: comfort, safety, style, power Cons: can't think of any
After coming to the decision to retire our trusty 1988 Dodge Caravan, we purchased a 1999 Ford Windstar SE.
Although the Caravan was serviceable (more or less), and generally got us from Point A to Point B, it was time for an upgrade. Plus,...
