Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Does anything and everything everywhere.
Cons: Some minor fit and finish defects that might even be from previous owner
The Bottom Line: This truck is a great choice for work and play!

I have always liked the big boxy style of these trucks, and 1999 was the last year they came this way.(now they are a bit more curvey) I wanted a truck that could handle a 4x8 sheet of plywood or drywall and also be able to transport at least 4-6 ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Plenty of space for the family and luggage
Cons: Lots of little bugs that are bothersome

We have three kids, two big dogs and the urge to road trip often... a combination that required a big truck where everyone could spread out and have their space. There was really no other choice for us besides the Suburban which met our needs perfectly...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Ride, feel of front seating, read door, walk thru seating in rear
Cons: Price, front passenger seat, no passenger controls for rear heating and cooling

I've owned two Tahoe's (1995 & 1999) -- fully loaded. We got a puppy about 6 months ago and needed more space -- for the dog and three teenagers who don't want to "touch" each other.

I grew up with two Suburbans that my father...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: excellent cruising truck - good vacation machine
Cons: Lacks the finer things you would expect in this price range

Plain and simply stated, the GMC suburban is a fantastic truck. The keyword here is truck. If you are expecting anymore than that, explore other options. In a Suburban, you will sit high atop the road and literally cruise along the highways with good...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: power, visibility, cargo space, comfortable ride
Cons: gas mileage

After comparing nearly all the 4-door, 4X4 SUV's available, the suburban seemed to be the best overall bargain. Much more cargo space for very competitive price compared to Yukon, Tahoe, Expedition, Explorer, and Navigator. Major drawback is gas...

Cons: Haven't found one yet!

We had a 1 yr. lease on a black Suburban in 1998, and had no doubts about entering a 3 yr. lease for another 1999 one, this time in Pewter. We checked out other SUV's, minivans, etc. but just couldn't do it! When we leased our first one, they told us...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Plenty of room. Rides and handles great. Push button 4 wheel drive auto trac system.
Cons: a/c system could be better.
The Bottom Line: Buy one! Tons of room, reliable, lots of nice features. Suburban has been around forever and no other manufacturer makes anything like it.

I purchased my GMC 2500 SLT 6.5 Turbo diesel used in May of 2001 with 65,000 miles on it. I fell in love with this vehicle the first time I drove it. For such a large truck it handles and rides very well. Around town gas mileage is 15 and highway ...

Pros: Sips gas...safe, good in snow, mud, big pulling power.
Cons: Outside, sounds like a Kenworth semi, + diesel fumes
The Bottom Line: Thanks to US and foreign gas cartels... Detroit makes few beefy fuel efficient Turbo Diesel vehicles like this. Versatility, strength, reliability, fuel economy.

Pros: Safety, towing, lots of room.
Cons: small electrical problems.
Our GMC 4x4 Suburban now has 109000 miles and has been very reliable for our family. Small electric problems can be a problem for example the electric windows work when they want to, and the a/c system isn't the best out there. These trucks are sturdy and will last a very long time if well maintained though.
