Pros: Roomy, powerful engine, sleek design Cons: Poor ride, suspension, and gas mileage
One of the first reviews I wrote on Epinions was for my brand new '99 Honda Passport. At that time, I was very excited to be buying a new SUV, and looking back I wonder if that excitement may have swayed my opinion on writing that review....

Pros: Has all of the Rodeo's good traits. Cons: Has all of the Rodeo's bad traits, costs more, and has a worse warranty. The Bottom Line: Used car shoppers beware: the Passport is an Isuzu Rodeo, and thus has the same reliability (average). Many like the Rodeo, but just know what you're getting into.
So you're all excited about buying a Honda Passport, that nice SUV by Honda... STOP! First let me fill you in on a little secret that seems to elude so many people: the Honda Passport is actually an ISUZU RODEO. That's right. Not made by Honda at...

Pros: Powerful V6, very capable off-roading, roomy interior. Cons: Limited warranty, technically not a Honda.
I recently purchased a '99 Honda Passport EX-L. After 3 weeks, I am still very happy with my decision, and let me tell you, it was an extremely informed one. I spent 6 weeks researching, test driving, and scrutinizing all different makes and models of...

Pros: Reliable, Affordable, Fun to Drive Cons: Not a well laid out interior and Parts are hard to get
When I finally got fed up with getting stuck in the snow during winter, I decided I wanted an SUV. I can't even begin to tell you how much research I did before I actually decided on the Passport. I think I went to every consumer website and bought...

Pros: Power, good looks Cons: too much turning
I recently bought a '99 Honda Passport (Black color :) and instantly when I went test driving, I noticed the awesome power and control. My old mazda pickup felt like a toy after the ride. I mean, how can you compare? A V6 engine compared to an old 4...

Pros: room, cargo space Cons: ride quality
As far as sport utilities goes this ain't all that bad of a car. However you can get all the same features from the Rodeo which has practically the exact same body but runs slightly less. In fact the only difference between the two is that the passport...

Pros: engine power, offroad height Cons: more interior comfort for the honda to differentiate it
The 1998 passport made substantial changes in the engine and transmission, adding some horsepower to make it quite quick for a 6 cyclinder.
1999 added certain cosmetic refinements to bring it up in class with its competitors, with new bumper and...

Pros: VERY STYLISH, POWERFUL, GREAT FEATURES Cons: PROBLEMS WITH HONDA....SEE REVIEW The Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY A PASSPORT THIS AN ISUZU ENGINE - HONDA PARTS SEEM TO BE MORE RELIABLE
I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED HONDA CARS, ACCORDS & CIVICS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CARS OR THE SERVICE IN HONDA. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO AFFORD A NEW PASSPORT I JUMPED RIGHT ON IT.
IN 1999 I PURCHASED A PASSPORT EX V6 WITH ALL THE BELLS &...

Pros: Higher Resale Cons: Same as the Rodeo
Many people do not realize that Isuzu Motors makes the Honda Passport. So why would anyone buy a Passport over a Rodeo? It depends on what you are looking for in a sport utility.
I like the looks of the Passport to begin with. Not every one...

Pros: roomy, solid feel, good power, decent mileage, love the visibility/height of vehicle Cons: bounces at higher speeds, layout of dash and console, more expensive than Isuzu Rodeo sibling The Bottom Line: It's a great combination of space, power, and comfort.
I have owned my Passport EX for 15 months and am still pleased with the purchase. I have driven Xterras, 4Runners and Cherokees in the last year and still find the Passport a better overall package. Gas mileage ~16 in the city and 20 on the highway....

Pros: Rugged, reliable, feels great when driving Cons: Few luxury extras for price
The Passport first grabbed my eye with its good looks. After a test drive I was convinced that this was the SUV for me. It packs a strong engine which provides plently of power for passing/merging on the highway. It handles great at all speeds and has...

Pros: Smooth Ride, comfort Cons: none
The Honda Passport has something going for it that most SUVs don't, personality. With its contoured shape and unique rear styling, the Passport stands out among the more boring, traditional SUV's. Driving the Passport is a complete dream. With a ton...

Pros: Decently priced, reasonable mileage, easy to drive. Cons: Everything breaks and Honda is not equipped to repair the vehicle expediently or completely.
I was looking for a SUV that was reliable, so I went to Honda. Well, they may make great small cars but you're better off buying domestically (in the US) for the bigger vehicles. While I enjoyed the overall drive, several things went wrong with it...

Pros: Nice looking Cons: Just about everything else
I bought this vehicle because I got a good deal from the Honda dealership and was impressed with it's looks. What a mistake I made! Now I'm stuck with a three year lease on a SUV I hate.
This vehicle is very below average and I would not...

Pros: Very elegant interior and exterior Cons: Bad gas mileage
We purchased our Honda Passport in June of 1999. It has been more than a year without any problems. I read some opinions about Rodeo being cheaper, but I think that Honda Passport is a very reasonably priced SUV. We shopped around and made comparisons...
