Pros: Safe, Economical, Extremely Comfortable, Stylish Cons: Needs Premium fuel, parts can be pricey. The Bottom Line: My car cost $5400. The repairs (not including the sunroof) have come to $3400. In the end, is it all worth it?? A resounding yes.
When I purchased the car, the following were inoperative: Both rear windows. Sunroof (would go up but not open fully, needs new pulleys and cables). Shifter would not go into manual mode (did not check during test drive). ... read more

Pros: Lots of little luxuries and a smooth ride. Cons: Constant, expensive problems. Proprietary parts. Very mediocre mileage. The Bottom Line: If you can't pay, don't play. Too many problems for such a low-mileage car.
If you would normally buy a luxury car, this review isn't for you. This review is for the once-in-a-lifetime folks tempted by a used "deal." We went out for kitty litter and came home with a Mercedes. Which is to say, it was an impulse buy. We saw a ... read more

Pros: Prestige, traction control, looks, fuel mileage better than expected Cons: Sluggish six, transmission in cold, interior material quality The Bottom Line: Recommended, but look for one with a clean documented history, and set aside some money for service and repairs!
Purchased the ML 320 used in 2006 with fairly low mileage. The truck had full service history (which is a must, knowing how expensive Mercedes service costs are). Originally I bought this car for its prestige, figuring the performance will be average or ... read more

Pros: Simply, a fabulously safe, well running, stable auto. Cons: It won't run forever. The Bottom Line: As I survived a head on collision on a major highway, at 70MPH, in a Mercedes, I will never drive any other make of automobile. Need I say more?
After surviving a head on collision, at 70 mph, in my '97 300E, I made the instant decision to stay in Mercedes the rest of my life. I also owned at that time a restored '71 280SL, (that I had since 1978) that I ended up selling, then, took the cash to ... read more

Pros: Great ride, good MPG, Cargo room Cons: No tow rating, electrical and directional lever location, maintenance schedule The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car for style, ride and safety
Coming off a Jeep Grand Cherokee, I was very pleased to pick up a 1999 E320 4 Matic wagon. Gas mileage on the highway is 26 and around town 19. This car has a very solid feel and handles well. The all wheel drive is excellent. You don't feel it until you ... read more

Pros: style, nice ride, quiet engine Cons: Oil change expensive, wish night lights turned off automatically. The Bottom Line: Just buy the car already, will ya?
I was in the market for a used car and kept going back and forth as to what to get. I wanted something luxury but the options were many. Soon as I saw it in the dealer lot, I had to have it. I have had no regrets. So stylish. When changing lanes on ... read more

Pros: Size, steering, manuverability, fuel economy / power(empty) Seat heaters. Cons: Rubermaid interior, loud sunroof, poor quality feel, HVAC is tempermental. The Bottom Line: Does not live up to Mercedes quality, still better than Ford or Chevy but probably not worth the premium for the minor increase in quality.
Overall I am satisfied with my ML. I bought it a couple years old with 20K miles on it for less than half original price. Good deal for me anyway! Glad I wasn't the original owner taking the bath. I have owned many Mercedes cars (SL500, 190E 2.6, ... read more

Pros: Traditional Style, larger interior space, and superior dashboard controls. Cons: Older technology does not allow for upgrades. The Bottom Line: This car is reliable, fun to drive, and a good to keep.
It has the essence of a Mercedes Benz.
I bought my car in July 2005. I still don't understand why I could not find good reviews about my car. The 1999 C280 is a car to keep. I wanted to trade for the newest C CLASS version, but I wasn't satisfied with them. I feel like the older one's are ... read more

My wife thought I was nuts -- a 6 year old car???? OK OK. This is not just a car, and if you find one that hasn't been abused, and can afford it, BUY it. This is a stealth sleeper. It's a baby Benz packed w/ more punches than a prize fighter. V-8, ... read more

Every Mercedes Benz Amentity Cons: Gas Mileage The Bottom Line: I recommend this car to anyone! A Mercedes Benz S-Class 92-99 is a classic that will never go out of style. Stay away from the 00-Present
In August of 2004, I went to a Mercedes Benz Dealership, where I was in search of an S-class. 97-99. The dealer showed me many, but none as striking as the Black on Black S320 LWB, that sat sheak and sporty, yet refined and classy. As I got in the S320, ... read more

I own a 1999 ML430 with 70K miles. It was a toss between the BMW X5 and this car and I chose this one - if only I knew then what I know now. A few weeks ago it had the identical problem (the p/s hose broke at the radiator connection). My wife was driving ... read more

Pros: Good acceleration, mid-sized with three rows of seats and the three point star logo Cons: Horribile reliability, very expensive repair, less value for money than others. The Bottom Line: Most expensive to maintain because of reliability problems and most other luxury SUV's provide value for money and features. Avoid this SUV.

Pros: Handling, looks. Cons: Quality issues. The Bottom Line: We started calling it the Chrysler M-Class. Too many problems for a Mercedes-Benz.
Back in college I bought an eleven year old Mercedes-Benz 220 Diesel with well over 150,000 miles on it. I drove it for another 50,000 miles before selling it at a profit. Never had a problem and I became a firm believer in Mercedes' legendary quality. ... read more

Pros: -Turning radius, power, handling, makes my wife happy. Cons: -uses a qt of oil every 1,000 miles. replaced Window switch. The Bottom Line: Would I pay close to $40,000 for a Mercedes built in Alabama? Only if I had money to burn. Since Mercedes depreciate like a rock, buy used.
A friend called me to ask if he should trade his 99 ML320 in on a Caddy SUV or a Lexus. I asked what he was doing with his ML320. Trading it in for $13,000. I told him I'd buy it for that. So the original owner drove it 80,000 miles,,had no trouble ... read more

Pros: Great car, new or sued. Solid, safe and retains value. Cons: Windshield wipers and road noise The Bottom Line: Can't think of better used car buy. Unlikely to have been mistreated. Mercedes people don't do that. Look good, feel good, be proud, this is America, God Bless it.
For anyone considering a "pre-owned" car in the $30-35,000 range it would be hard to geta a better value than the E320. The dealers are offering all sorts of warranty and maintenance guarantees which is worth a lot. Our car is 3 years old, has neve had ... read more

Pros: Elegant classic lines on a solid, tech-rich machine. Cons: Not suitable for 5 passengers The Bottom Line: A superb 2.8 liter engine and the reliability of Mercedes-Benz
Many C (w202) models are becoming classics. Oozing with elegance and easily mistaken for the $60,000 S-Class, the 1999 C280 will not be outdone the newer C240 vehicles (with the 203 body) in any category. The spunky 194hp engine thrusts the car through ... read more

Pros: Open, spacious interior. Good performance. Comfortable and good handling. Cons: Spartan interior. Premium Bose stereo not all that. The Bottom Line: An SUV that doesn't drive like one. You can get lucky and get a rock solid one that feels like Merc of old: spartan yet very durable.
Ever since this product was introduced, people have made a habit of slamming it. I often wonder whether they refer to the same vehicle that I have been driving since 1999, because my experience is utterly different. Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt the ... read more
