Pros: Its a Toyota, tried and true. Style, comfort, reliability... Cons: For used cars, a bit pricey, though so worth the extra $. The Bottom Line: They're more pricey than other used SUV's because they are far superior, and will last at least twice as long. The price IS justified.
So I've anxiously been awaiting an ownership time period that seemed reasonable before jumping in with a review... I don't think I've quite waited long enough, but I can wait no longer. If anything changes, I'll update the review... First off, I'll ... read more

Pros: Toyota quality, absolute dependability, customer service Cons: Should have bought two! The Bottom Line: Next to a 1997 Porsche Turbo, possibly the greatest car I have ever owned. Rock solid, replace oil and drive!
I purchased my 1999 4Runner after looking at everything from Jeeps to Range Rovers. In the end, I went with the 4Runner because with the SR5 I was able to get both a 5 speed and the optional super charger. In the six years that I have owned this ... read more

Pros: Outstanding reliability, attractive styling, engine purrs like kitten Cons: Small gas tank, front seats too small, interior lights are weak The Bottom Line: This SUV is very fun to drive. Lacks some of power of new 240hp Pathfinders, it makes up with higher MPG, and excellent reliability.
Impressive off-road capabilities, huge road clearance and tall ride. Many good features including: audio system/cd player, rear window rolls up and down, relatively good MPG (21.8) on highway, huge sunroof, fun to drive. Plus, the 4x4 feature is very ... read more

Pros: A rugged, yet comfortable driving machine.
Cons: Expensive!! The Bottom Line: An expensive, but luxurious ride.
I bought my '99 black 4-runner(SR5) back in January 1999. The reason I went for this make is that I knew some other people who swore by their 4-runners, so at the time, I didn't balk at the 30K price tag for the car. Overall, I have been very satisfied ... read more

Pros: Style, Overall Performance Cons: Gas is a B*tch The Bottom Line: I love, my wife loves it, and my kids "allow" it.
We purchased a 1999 Toyota 4Runner new in '99. We got the Limited because we had to make it pretty for my wife. I am overall pleased with the car. As usual it had to be "approved" by my son who was the one to recommended it. This replaced our minivan ... read more

Pros: Big but not too big, comfy, smooth ride, spiffy looking Cons: little cramped in the back, short people might need a latter to get into it
A cut above the rest of the SUV's, the cream of the crop, the creme de la creme...I'm not sure if that's spelled right, but those just barely begin to give the Toyota 4Runner its dues. It handles well, it's not oversized, looks very spiffy, and has some ... read more

Finally I was the proud new owner of one of my dream vehicles. It's silly but I've always loved the roll-down rear windows on SUVs and ever since I've had a license to drive I've wanted one. The K-series Blazers and the Broncos had them but it seems the ... read more
