Pros: handling, interior design, Cons: too many problems, major quality issues The Bottom Line: If you like visiting the shop every couple of months then go ahead and buy a 3 series.
I have been visiting the BMW shop quite often since I ordered my 2000 328Ci. 30K miles and many problems, the latest one topped it all off. Water leaks! That's right...my floor panel on the driver's side was soaked when it rained. Other problems are as...

Pros: Quiet, smooth ride inside, tight handling and sleek. Great Consumer Reports statistics. Cons: Lifter & amplifier noise, intermittent sunroof operation/brake light failure, engine shake/quiver, sub-quality rear glass/battery. The Bottom Line: Purchase another new BMW? Not until BMW of America accepts product responsibility, is willing to appease/negotiate with customers and are truly "committed to ensure total satisfaction" to their customers!
I proudly drove the vehicle off the showroom floor on September 21, 1999 with 000011 miles. It was the smoothest, quietest vehicle I've ever owned. The car appeared solid, quiet, and held the corners superbly, at least for the first few days. ...

Pros: Comfortable seats & ride; nice stereo Cons: Poor quality; recurring problems; airbags deployed inadvertently The Bottom Line: Don't buy BMW. I have serious concerns about the integrity of the airbag systems used on their cars. Furthermore, I was extremely disappointed by BMW's response to the airbag deployment.
Bought our 2000 328i new from the dealer. Enjoyed driving the car but had what I would consider exce ...

Pros: Stylish, somewhat powerful, luxurous Cons: Poor quality, poor reliability, not a solid car.
We have been beloved BMW lovers for many years. Both my wife and I just love the way BMW 3 series looks and we were destined to buy one someday.
That was our dream. When the year 2000 BMW 328i came out, which is the
new style we said to ourself...

Pros: Styling, drive of the vehicle Cons: Rattles, groans, constant trips to shop The Bottom Line: Do not buy a BMW.
You will not believe the experience that I have had with BMW. This car has been in the shop a total of 38 days since I leased it last May (2000). There are so many problems with these cars that you don't hear about. BMW has had to replace the window...

Pros: Handling, ride Cons: Interior styling!!
The BMW is a great car to drive, but the engineers need to get real with their interiors. I've never seen anything that cheap-looking in a car that costs that much in my life. I would recommend the VW Passat/Audi A4 over it, but I'm partial to rear...

Pros: Great handling, incredible balance, superb refinement Cons: Absolutely horrible ownership experience- Beware of tons of problems! The Bottom Line: It's a great car, but plagued with numerous problems.
My 2000 323Ci is a great car, but its been so troublesome after only 20,000 miles that I would have sold it over a year ago (only 22 months old now) but I can't get a good price for it.
Let me list all the problems I have had with the car and...

Pros: Styling, drivetrain Cons: Not reliable, poor quality interior & rattles
The Bottom Line: Beware the glowing reviews! There are serious quality control issues that can ruin your relationship with this car after the "honeymoon" is over. BMW is sacrificing quality to boost profit.
I am an auto enthusiast. I have owned other BMW's, Infiniti, and some sporty Volvos. I bought my 323i (loaded at $33,000) new as a 2000 model. I bought it b/c I wanted the tight feel I was accustomed to in BMW's, and because I enjoyed the demo car that I...

Pros: Fun to drive and nice looking.
Cons: Serious design flaws and faulty parts The Bottom Line: This vehicle has design flaws and faulty parts.
I was just trying to troubleshoot a problem I was having with my 2000 BMW 323i and I came across an e-pinion user who mentioned a similar problem in his/her review. As I read, I started to think that the reviewer's myriad problems with the car sounded ...

Pros: German Quality Cons: German Quality may not be what it used to be ! The Bottom Line: Is BMW really "The Ultimate Driving Machine?
After my experience I think not.
I have owned other BMW's in the past without many problems so I decided to buy a new 2000 323I to replace my 528I.
Here is my first complaint: Here is a new car with only 22,149 miles on it and my brake warning light comes on. I take my car...

Pros: Fast, Sleek, Safe, and has high class Cons: High Priced
The BMW 3 Series is one of the safest cars around says the car critics these days. This is good for BMW for it has been competing with the safest car manufacturer, Volvo. But are these critics write about this. Is it really safer. My opinion on this...

Pros: Quiet interior, good transmission, exterior Cons: Loss of legendary handling, conservative interior
Even though the BMW 3-Series is technically sophisticated car, it has lost some of the razor sharp handling of its predecessors. Under normal driving circumstances, the driving is crisp, clean and quite fun, primarily due to its great turning...

Pros: Excellent car (when it is not in the shop) Cons: MANY minor service problems
I bought a 2000 328ci and have been in the shop 16 days over six months. All kinds of minor items fail again and again. The problems started with a clicking in the automatic windows. Now there is a water leak in the passenger compartment. I have had...

Pros: built well, solid handling Cons: engine, engine, engine, price
The last car I drove during the Ultimate Drive was a 323Ci, with and automatic. Wow, I was sooo disappointed. This is just a horrible car. Yes, it is super tight inside, made well, and the handling is good, but nothing is outstanding. I drove this...

Pros: Great BMW quality and engineering Cons: Looks like it was geared towards an older market (like my dad).
The new 3-series sedans and coupes are all that BMW lovers expected them to be. They handle better then any other car in it's class and has good power to back it up. But one aspect which I think the new 3-series isn't better then the old models, is...
