Downhill once it hits 50K

by
Dec 11, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Nice features, leather interior, drove nice at first
Cons: Fell apart at 50K miles.
The Bottom Line: If it has over 50K miles, forget about it!

I bought my 2000 Chevy Blazer when it had I think 20K miles on it, in 2003.  It ran great and was loaded (leather interior, all power everything, etc).  It pretty much needed no repairs for a couple years that I owned it, other than your ... read more

The 2000 Blazer ZR-2 model is a strong offroad vehicle, but don't expect high reliability.

by
Mar 4, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Amazing offroad and snow performance. Cool styling. Most parts are inexpensive in the aftermarket.
Cons: Reliability, fuel economy, fuel tank size, and roominess are all fair to poor.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a stock vehicle that is extremely offroad capable, you have found it. But as a daily around town driver, forget it.

I ordered my 2000 Blazer ZR-2 in August of 1999, and it was delivered in October. This was right in the middle of the era where "family" SUV's dominated the new car market, so to get a true offroad capable SUV I had to special order it. What Is A ... read more

Pros: Hmmmmmmm, Air conditioner works great!
Cons: Road noise, Bumpy ride, Blind spots(front and back), Not family friendly, Gas mileage
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this vehicle. The life of it doesn't seem very long even if you do take care of it.

I bought my 2000 blazer in 2003. It has had it's problems but all in all it has been ok. I was new to buying cars so I didn't do any research or anything......my mistake. The safety rating is awful and I think I read some where that the blazer is one ... read more

Pros: Looked good.
Cons: Expensive Repairs, Built like Garbage, poor gas mileage
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this vehicle. You will have problems. Its safe to say one of the fastest depreciating vehicles. Genuine Garbage.

I bought a NEW(13 miles) 2000 Chevy Blazer in Sept. of 2000. The vehicle did great until the warranty ran out. I took excellent care of this truck and had the following problems: 1. Seat levers broke- Expect this on every Blazer 2. Oil Cooler Lines ... read more

Still Loving My 2000 Chevy Blazer

by
Feb 20, 2004 - Updated Feb 21, 2004 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The price is great, the vehicle drives smooth and is dependable.
Cons: Limited Passenger Side Leg Room, Small Back seat area. Blind Spots.
The Bottom Line: This is a great SUV for the price. We have had no major problems with this vehicle, and would purchase again.

When my husband purchased this 2000 Chevy Blazer 2-door SUV in October 1999, I was a little bit afraid to drive his new "baby." However, he kept pushing me to take it for a spin, and once I did, I fell in love with it. Unfortunately for him, it ... read more

Chevy has really sold out the S10 line

by
Aug 23, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Looks nice and is dependable transportation, during the warranty period.
Cons: Less power, bigger 'blind spots', breakaway plastic parts.
The Bottom Line: For the money, why not get a fully loaded Izuzu or other import?

First of all, we are a Chevy S10 couple. When we met, I was driving my '95 S10 Pickup (which I purchased after having driven my '89 into the ground!) and she was cruising around in her '91 S10 Blazer. We both like the look of the line, as well as the ... read more

Pros: great vehicle, great options, enjoyable ride
Cons: gas, rolls bit from park to rev/drive,
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle, plenty of room for shopping and dogs and kids. There are great options inside, plenty of lighting, cup holders, storage compartments, etc.

Overall this vehicle is a great buy. The features are so nice, cup holders in front and back - especially great when children are in the back seat, lights come on automatically at dusk, daylight running lamps, back seats go down for more carry room. The ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great gas mileage for an SUV (25 highway)
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: This is a great vehicle for the money. It covers all the bases from camping, grocery shopping, road trips, carpooling, hauling.

When my husband decided we needed a vehicle that he could take camping, we did some serious deliberating. Should we get a regular pick-up? Well, the price is right, but there are 4 of us in the family. Who doesn't get to go? An extended cab pick-up? ... read more

Pros: Push-Button 4-wheel drive, smooth driving, lots of room.
Cons: Hard to see out the back window, hard to see out the back because of the side structure, Very hard to get the rear windows to defrost.

Here is my opinion about the Chevrolet Blazer: I don't care for it. The problems are quite significant. The number one problem is that it is very hard to see out the back window because of the structure of the vehicle, I mean it has the ... read more

Pros: Ride, price.
Cons: Location of shifter and cassette player.

OK! So you want to buy or lease a new SUV. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee was a great vehicle, but the residuals on the Jeeps were ridiculously low, driving the monthly lease payments up by $60-70 per month for a car that had the same sticker price of 3 years ... read more

I just leased a 1999 Chevy Blazer in January 1999, I love its style, handling, stereo system, and most of all comfort. The only thing I would have to say is the gas mileage is something to be desired. You really have to be a true Chevy fan to accept ... read more

Cons: not a luxurious vehicle

The 2000 Chevy Blazer LT is an excellent value for the money. While it may not have the luxury of its competitors, the vehicle's price and the rebates and lease rates offered by GMAC make this a worthwhile buy. The 2000 LT comes with many ... read more
