A few weeks ago I received a 2000 Impala LS as a present from my parents. The car is in excellent condition, despite the fact that it has 89,000 miles. Although the mileage is high, the car won me over. I enjoy all of the features, which include leather ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Styling, comfort, price
Cons: Air Conditioning, suspension, reliability
The Bottom Line: Overall, this car has promise. I have not seen many bad reviews for this vehicle, so maybe my problems stand alone. Overall it is a comfortable, stylish, and safe vehicle.

Let me start off by saying I have always wanted an Impala due to it's great looks and improved engine. GM has a good reputation built on reliability of their vehicles, so when I bought this new vehicle I expected many trouble free years ahead of me. ... read more

Good, but not Great

by
Oct 6, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Lots of power for a big car.
Cons: Chirping Brakes, Undercarriage hitting road on steep inclines.
The Bottom Line: The Chevy Impala is a great car for this generation. One of the most luxurious cars in its class.

Overall, I liked the 2000 Impala LS Sedan. I liked its sporty appearance, not your average big car. It is a beautiful car, not as boxy as the Crown-Vic, nor as expensive, which is a good thing. The Impala is a very luxurious car for its price. ... read more

I am in love with the 1996 Black Caprice look like Impala. LS1 V8 engine powered. For the 2000 model, Chevy brought back the family sedan they introduced back in '58. Price is right, room for 6 which all fits comfortably without rubbing shoulders, 5 ... read more

Pros: Roomy, practical but fun, solid, good power
Cons: Leaks like a sieve
The Bottom Line: Leak has really spoiled the enjoyment. Also recall repair on gas line needed...caution to buyers. Watch for problems.

Unfortunately, my 2000 Chevy Impala leaks after rainfall and/or carwash onto the floor of the passenger side from under the dash. Multiple repair attempts unsuccessful and no idea if it will be resolved or what Chevy will do if they can't fix it. Now ... read more

Pros: Value, Size

The Bottom Line: If it were my money, and it had to be domestic, I'd consider the Grand Prix in this price range.

AVIS=GM=dull and boring. At least, that was what I thought when I received the keys to the Impala. My opinion of GM cars would be altered somewhat. Test Period I rented the Impala for 3 weeks in late '00. Drove it to work in hot ... read more

Pros: Awesome power, unique styling, room for six, solid ride, excellent MPG on highway.
Cons: Heavy steering, trunk difficult to open.
The Bottom Line: This car deserves a test drive by anyone interested in an American family sedan.
