Feb 27, 2010 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Lots of room. was lucky enough to get the first model with 4 doors
Cons: Why would GM put a V6 in a full size truck?
The Bottom Line: With proper care and maintenance, this is a perfect vehicle for anyone.

I got this truck when I was 19 as a first vehicle used with 42,000 miles on it.  The 4.3L engine does lack the full power of the V8, but it can haul with the big boys.  I've only had to make minor repairs, some of which are famous among General ... read more

I bought this truck just one month ago. I bought it used, and I absolutely love it. I have owned a couple of pickups in the past. Both were Dodges and were good trucks. I DO NOT like the way the Fords look or the new Dodge trucks. However, the style ... read more

The Bottom Line: Before you buy a comparable pickup from another maker, drive the Silverado. You may become a Chevy lover, too!

When we went to buy our new pickup, we of course went to the Ford dealer and drove the F-150 (to replace our 14 year old F-150). We tried a couple of different ones, haggled over price a bit with the dealers, and were just about settled, when we decided ... read more

Pros: doesn't look like your average family vehicle
Cons: parking it takes a bit of getting used to

We needed a new family vehicle. We had an SUV with nearly 200,000 miles on it and a bad reputation coming out on it. At 26 and 31 my husband and I decided we weren't quite ready for a mini-van. So we test drove a Z71 Silverado 1500 with 4 doors and ... read more
