Pros: Beautiful, Affordable,Fun Cons: Seats only 4 passengers, backseat is a little small
My very first car that I bought on my own was a 1972 Mustang. When I moved out of my house and had children, I needed more room and had to give up my MUSCLE car. I tried MANY other vehicles and I was never as proud of any of them as I was my Mustang....

Pros: Bright Red! :-)
Good pick up ( i have the V6)
Cons: Loud interior
Cops love it!
Small back seat The Bottom Line: Own a Mustang at least once in your life. They are a blast and they arent overpriced like some cars out there.
I bought my brand new Mustang in May 2000. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I had wanted a new mustang my whole life.
I did most of my shopping on the Internet and did most of my deal online through Ford.
I haven't had...

Pros: Value, Power, Body Style, Insurance, Gas Mileage Cons: Notchy Shifter, Hard Seats
I thought I always wanted a Chevrolet Camaro; but, after test driving both vehicles, comparing features and prices, and some soul searching to try something other than a Chevy, I decided I liked the Mustang Coupe better over-all. A loaded V6 w/o leather...

Pros: Traction Control is in your control Cons: Slippery Rear
As this is a popular sporty little car that looks just great, its hard to really criticize it. But for Mustang lovers, don't overlook the slippery slide of its rear end. I would only recommend that anyone buying this car ask for Traction Control. Its...

Pros: great car Cons: bad handling with 17 inch wheels
I own a '97 Mustang GT. In general, I love the car. However, there is one problem that the salesmen WON'T warn you about and that will apply to your 2000 model as well. The 17 inch tires make handling a problem on roads which are not the smoothest....

A good car for the money

Pros: Quick
Comfortable
Good gas mileage
Trunk is large Cons: Uncomfortable on Long trips
Rough Ride
Hard to maneuver in tight areas
Ive put 90k on my GT and lemme tell you, I love this car. It is really quick, with great gas mileage, plus everyone loves to look at it. The exhaust sounds really mean at full throttle too. The trunk is also pretty large for a car of its size. The leather seats are extremely comfortable when laid back. Air conditioning and Heater are very reliable as most fords are. On long trips though it is not good, after driving for an hour or more you do feel the need to get out. My only problems are: theirs no back seat practically, rough ride and door handle position is weird.

GREAT SPORTS CAR VALUE!!!

Pros: 260 HP 4.6L V-8, SHARP BODY LINES, MACH 460 STEREO, Cons: NO HOOD SCOOP UNTIL 2001, BACK SEAT NOT VERY CHILD CAR SEAT FRIENDLY
I MAY BE SOMEWHAT BIASED BEING A MUSTANG LOVER, BUT I HAVE DRIVEN IN AND OWNED ALMOST EVERY MUSTANG BODY STYLE AVAILABLE! THE NEWER BODY STYLE MUSTANG HAS SHARP LOOKS, THE BODY FEELS TIGHTER, THE ENGINE SOUNDS THROATY AND AGGRESSIVE FROM THE INTERIOR, BUT NOT TOO LOUD! INTERIOR REMAINS VIRTUALLY UNCHANGED FROM 94-00 MODELS. MY 2000 HAD ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I SOLD IT (NEW BABY). IT GAVE ME NO PROBLEMS UP TO THAT POINT EVEN WITH THE ABUSE I GAVE IT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SPORTS CAR AT A GREAT PRICE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A 1999-2004 MUSTANG.

Beware of 'Out of Warranty' Engine Problems

Pros: Great looking car, ran well for the first 40,999 miles Cons: Expensive out of warranty repairs
I loved my 2000 Mustang Convertible, V-6, 5 speed, until last week. Just as it hit 41,000 miles, the check engine light went on. I barely made it to the nearest Ford dealer, to find out a valve spring broke, and repairs would be $1900!!!That's absurd and it took a week to fix,so add the rental car expense.
I was all set to trade it in next year on the new Mustang. But unless Ford starts having a better/longer warranty, I'll be looking at something else.

96 Mustang GT on 3rd manifold

Pros: It don't have any. Cons: Ford's manifold is pure junk.
I have replaced the manifold on my 96 Mustang GT twice now. It cracked once at 60,000 miles, which Ford replaced for free due to the recall. At 120,000 miles the so called " more durable" manifold also cracked! When it cracked again I took it back to Ford who explained to me that this manifold was not on the recall, that the recall was only good for one replacement. So I ended up spending over $1200.00 for parts and labor to get it replaced. So I think the Ford's updated- "more durable" manifold is pure junk also!

Check Engine Light (Fifth Time)

Pros: Nice body. Doesn't pull back when you try to hit 60-70 miles per hour. Cons: Unlimited mechanical problems after 40k miles. You will throw your savings away. Good luck.
I must have purchased a lemon. I drove my new 2000 Mustang off of the lot with 12 miles on it. Loved it. Despite the fish tailing in the rain it was fun.
Then it was all downhill. During a drive on the major highway my engine began smoking. My thermostat was broken and the valve/pump/whatever had burst. I was only at 40k miles at the time. The Ford mechanic said if I had not pulled over when I did I would have needed a whole new engine. At 55k the "Check Engine" light came on. This time a pump had cracked. Fixed it. Two months later, the steering wheel pump had cracked. Fixed it. Now again, it's on at 63k miles. I hate to say it but I should have kept my Accord. I had it for four years, with 88k miles and dumped it for "fun." The only thing I have gained is over $1,500 put into a car only 3 1/2 years old.
