Pros: Handles like a car. Hooks on the back of the rear seat. Cons: Removable seats are heavy. Temperature control / air circulation for passengers could be better. The Bottom Line: Overall we are extremely happy with our purchase. I don't think there is a better minivan out there on the market.
We bought our new 2000 Ford Windstar last October and have been extremely happy with our purchase so far. There have been no mechanical problems at all!!!
Here are some of the features that we like best about our Windstar:
It...

Pros: Strong as hog's breath Cons: The rear door could be easier to deal with
This is my first vehicle that is not a car. I have never owned a motorcycle, motorhome, pickup truck or anything else other than mostly big roomy sedans. I like my creature comforts when tooling down the highway enroute to one golf resort or...

Pros: Smooth comfortable drive. Roomy Cons: Poor reliability
I have a 2000 Ford Windstar, and love to drive the van. That is, I love to drive it when it is not at the dealer being repaired.
I had a 1998 Ford Windstar, which the dealer could not fix, and they decided that it would be easier to just give me a...

Pros: great safety rating Cons: none
We recently traded in our 1996 Dodge Caravan for a 2000 Ford Windstar. We had had the Caravan for three years, and I was very happy with it, so when it came time to make the change, I was a little leary. However, I found that the Windstar had almost...

Pros: Floats down the road, good looks Cons: reliability is questionable(gas pedal vibrates and engine hesitates or shifts erratically) The Bottom Line: Stay away from this vehicle, reliability of the drive train on this vehicle is questionable at best. Is Ford hiding something?
That is what I was told by a a Ford Motor Company engineer who I met with to discuss a vibration in the gas pedal at 2,250 RPM (since that time the vibration has gotten much worse) and at times the transmission hesitates shifting to the next highest...

Pros: Good space Cons: Never works!
If you get this car, I would suggest getting a cell phone because it is going to leave you stranded. We bought a 92 Aerostar and as you can guess, It literally fell apart. We had to replace the engine, transmission, brake stuff, and many other vital...

Pros: Lots of standard features Cons: I get an electrical shock when I get out of the van...I've had other Ford owners tell me this happens to them also
I have had my 2000 Windstar LX for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. The only options I got were the upgraded stereo/CD system and 2nd row buckets seats.
The van handles very well and the ride is smooth. It comes with outlets in...

Pros: Great handling, comfort, looks a LOT nicer than previous models, Unique Conversation Mirror Cons: Dealer Problems
The Ford Windstar 2000 Mini Van is my personal favourite for family cars. Superior style and control with little features that you think only the top of the lin car would get you. I bought the 2000 LX Windstar in September 99 and have only had a couple...

Pros: Nice machine all around Cons: Less choice with options; Higher sticker price than others in its class.
Okay, I must confess that, since purchasing two Chrysler mini-vans ('90 and '95), my family and I are well and truly members of the 'burb culture (though our overall lifestyle is no American Beauty). Being in the military and spending every other...

Pros: great versatility, legroom, storage space Cons: stiff turn signals, low gas mileage
What can I say about the 2000 Ford Windstar?
I was very hesitant to buy a minivan - I went kicking and screaming to the dealerships when I was looking. I changed my mind after I test drove the Windstar. I was afraid that driving a minivan would...

Pros: Size, comfort, drive Cons: Gas mileage
We absolutely love this van! Ours is a 2000 Windstar SE that we purchased in November of 99. Part of the reason we love it so much, is the fact that Ford has provided us with excellent customer service. But, aside from that, here are a few more...

Pros: Great fun to drive, low to the ground, great handling, good engine Cons: Seems like a full-size fan, cheap materials, spinoff of Chevy minivan
I rented a vehicle for vacation last week and unfortunately they didn't have much of a selection, so I ended up with a new Ford Windstar. My first impression was "what a piece of junk!" The fit-and-finish is absolutely horrible, the quality of...

Pros: Good gas mileage, sliding rear doors, outside stays looking clean. Cons: blind spot on right, center storage container not functional and in the way. The Bottom Line: Good family vehicle for Moms doing errands & carting kids around, economical & practical.
I have 2 kids and 3 stepkids and although the Ford Windstar (2000) is not gorgeous or extremely stylish, it is functional and economic. My husband has a Yukon and it takes roughly $100. to fill it up whereas my Ford Windstar takes $35. to fill with ...

Pros: Leather Interior, Captain's Chairs, Back Up Alarm System. Cons: Driver's side window won't roll down. Remote entry doesn't work. No value. The Bottom Line: I would not recommend purchasing this year/make/model, as it has had one problem after another, right from the start.
I have almost 75,000 miles on my Windstar. I'll give you the bad first. The interior lights never worked, and the dealer was unable to fix it. I had it in at least half a dozen times, and they would keep it for up to five days, and could never fix it. ...
