Pros: Spacious interior Cons: Rear windows don't open
My family recently rented a Ford Windstar by accident on our recent trip to Colorado. Due to a mistake caused by Budget Rental Cars we ended up with the Windstar and there was no problem with it by me.
I personally have always wanted a...

Pros: The ride fantastik! Cons: none The Bottom Line: Peace of mind is important and that is excatly what this van has given to my family..
We purchased our 2000 Windstar about one year ago and have not regreted it one bit. We had been driving a 97 Chevy Astro and got tired of the box like design and the auwkward handling especially in the winter. This purchase defintally was a step in...

Pros: Handling, look, comfort, luxury Cons: Storage space
We just traded in our 1995 LX Windstar for a 2000 SEL model. I *loved* my 1995 Windstar, I drove it longer than my husband wanted me to. It had lots of storage room, a cool LED display and was very comfortable on short as well as very long (12+ hours)...

Pros: Styling and safety features Cons: Excessive repairs and ford does not acknowledge defective product The Bottom Line: Avoid this model until quality and reliability improve.
We had owned a Dodge caravan but swore off them when the transmission failed at 70k miles. The Windstar styling appealed to my wife and the safety features (side airbags, back-up sensor) were not available on other vans of that year. The van is used...

Pros: No one wants one Cons: Really, No one wants one
I am a former Ford salesman. Yea, I sold a couple of Windstars, but practicaly had to give them away. Before I go in to this I want to say that it did receive a five star safety rating, which is the highest a vehicle can receive. Very safe, well from the...

Pros: At the time we got it, it seemed like a very nice van. Cons: Worst reliability of any vehicle I have ever owned.
Many repairs made multiple times. The Bottom Line: Before you trust the positive reviews, please note that they were mostly written in '00 and '01. Read this 5 year retrospective and be warned: STAY AWAY FROM THIS VEHICLE!
Before you believe all the positive reviews, please note the date on them--they were mostly posted in '00 and '01!! I too loved my 2000 Ford Windstar up until about the end of it's first year. This car is now five years old. Since driving it off the ...

Pros: Comfortable ride, comfortable interior, great styling, safety, conveniences Cons: Reliability, rear seat leg room The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a big, family-friendly minivan, consider the Windstar. On the newer models, Ford addressed many of the minor problems that plagued the earlier 1999 and 2000 models.
We've had our 2000 Windstar SEL since July 2000. It's a much nicer, more refined vehicle than our previous Chevrolet Astro and Plymouth Voyager. Here are the things we like best about our Windstar:
* The ride is very comfortable.
* The...

Pros: big, doesn't tip over, durable Cons: automatic doors freeze up once in awhile The Bottom Line: The bottom line is that its a very helpful car with few glitches
The 2000 Ford Windstar is an exceptional car. I got it fully loaded and itis great to the best of my knowledge. Ford makes great cars... I only have three problems with it:
1. It has trouble going up steep inclines (like my driveway)

Pros: Drives very smoothly Cons: Manual rear windows can be hard to open and close
Being a young, single person, such as myself, there is not much of a need for a minivan, but I checked it out nonetheless.
Aesthetically, it has the same look and feel of other minivans, but with a significant advantage. Upon getting into the...

Pros: extra door, comfort, drivability, room Cons: price of new Vs. used
I just want to start off by saying that anyone who has had a hard time buying a car, and gone away feeling frustrated and angry, should try starting online doing research. This is how I started. Then I went directly to the Ford website, put in the...

Pros: Soft ride, roomy, very functional Cons: gas mileage The Bottom Line: This is more affordable on the used market than the Sienna with most of the safety. Somewhat less convenient because of the rear seat.
After having our second child, my wife announced that she thought our ful-size sedan was too small and we needed to get a van. Of course, it had to happen sometime but it was still a difficult transition.
If you need a minivan, this could...

Pros: Roomy, rear sliding doors on both sides of van Cons: Blind spots, feels too light, cheap feeling
We were rear ended while in our 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan (which I love to pieces!) and had to have it repaired.
Needing a mini-van, we ended up with a 2000 Ford Windstar. Granted it was the lowest possible model that the rental agency...

This car is excellent in all respects. From it's graceful streamlined shape to it's efficiency and the low hum of the motor the vehicle oozes class. An abundance of features are arrayed on the dashboard ready to delight and confuse anyone with more...
