Pros: Great for family Cons: Poor handling The Bottom Line: Vehicle is very heavy and may not be the best on the market. Test drive others before making this purchase.
I have a 2000 Windstar SEL. It has everything. There are many features that are helpful with small children. I especially like the remote sliding door and the revers alarm that warns you if you about to hit something. We made this purchase without doing...

Pros: Power, excelleration, roominess, handling, smooth ride Cons: Ford reliability history, A/C problems The Bottom Line: Great for a new car purchase because of price, just make sure to buy with confidence. It price isn't a factor, try the Odyssey.
My experience with this minivan started in 2000 when my wife and I, after having our first child, decided to upgrade from our 1996 Honda Civic 2 door. I thought about the Explorer at first but figured out that a minivan would probably give us the most ...

Pros: low to the ground Cons: bad trans
The Bottom Line: run away, they have'nt backed their product with me. please don't subject yourself to these bad encounters.
I just rolled 39000 miles and my transmisson is burned up due to the pump going bad and the fluid leaking out of a seal. The sloggin built Ford tough is a joke in my opinion. When I asked for them to back their product they said sorry it's out of...

Pros: great engine Cons: ugly interior exterior (too plastiky), uncummfy seats. The Bottom Line: I just do not reccomend it...to ugly!! not comfy!!
Fords older model windstar and the current one, is just plain ugly. The base model is way to plasticy, and the interior of every model is just way to plasticy. I've ridden in my friends many times. We have a Chrysler Town and Country LX (Base model)...

Pros: Looks Great Cons: Not a 4by 4
A friend of mine just paid more than $20,000 to try to get the comfort I have in a van almost ten years older and $13,000 cheaper. We have a 1990 model Ford Aero-Star. This van is awesome and most comfortable. The Windstar has much less head room than...

Pros: Plenty of room - probably more than any other van I've had. Cons: Awful reliability The Bottom Line: Fix the transmission problems and blown head gasket problems. and you will have the best mini van on the market.
Ford Windstars have for the past 4 or 5 years done very well with styling and comfort. However their continuing problems with bad transmissions and blown head gaskets on the engine make it a definite vehicle to avoid. Ford did do a recall on the '94 and...

Pros: Lots of room. Cons: Its a mini-van.:) The Bottom Line: Great van to own for a growing family, reliable and sturdy.
After our old car broke down, we broke down and decided on buying a minivan. With one son and plans for more(and also have a dog:)) we decided a minivan would be the best choice. The Ford Windstar was one of the best looking and also priced great. I ...

Pros: Roomy, great features, safe Cons: Failing engine/trans, bad mpg
With all the hype that the Windstar has produced, I regretfully must say it doesn't hold up to the hype. I made the mistake of buying a Windstar, against my Chevy upbringing. It was a roomy van with alot of clever features, but the fuel efficiency was...

Pros: a) Comfort in seating and motion while vehicle underway. b) Sound system is good and rear passengers have the option of listening to different music if so desired. Cons: a) Gas mileage is much lower than window sticker indications. b) Auto lamps are not standard equipment. c) Rear airbags are not standard and those with children should consider this feature.
In June of 1999, a vehicle was needed to assist aging parents entering and exiting a vehicle. Vans were researched and the Ford Windstar was selected as it had the dual sliding passenger door capability and it was listed as one of the safest vehicles on...

Pros: Space, Safety Cons: Poor engine again
I bought this vehicle because of the 1995 Windstar engine recall. The recall buyback required that I purchase another Ford vehicle otherwise I probably would have looked elsewhere. At this time, I feel like there may be a recall on the 2000 engine also....

Pros: Safety, Convenience Cons: Lack of 4WD
I recently purchased a 2000 Windstar LX. My primary reason for choosing the Windstar was the four 5-Star crash ratings. Since my wife drives our 16 month old daughter int his vehicle. Safety is probably enough of a reason to choose the Windstar. ...

Pros: the high safety ratings Cons: the reliability The Bottom Line: If Ford had a different transmission and would put the 4.0 V6 from the Explorer, then I would recommend it. I will instead recommend a Dodge Caravan
The Windstars I am righting about are not my own thank goodness. My friend bought a 2000 Ford Windstar with a 3.8 OHV V6 in the summer of 2000. He bought this to replace his 1998 Ford Explorer which was falling apart on him. He drove this vehicle...

Pros: Look, colour, ride, space and options Cons: Nothing significant
We leased a 1999 Winstar LX in June 1999. We traded in a 1997 Ford Aerostar which is no longer mfg. We traded in the Aerostar because we wanted a few more features and luxuries that we did not get on the Aerostar.
The first an most pleasing...
